Hammerhead Karoo 2 vs CatEye Quick

Its touchscreen has the natural responsiveness of a smartphone, and its Android 8 OS (sorry iFolks!) ensures it uses an intuitive interface familiar to most smartphone users. It's definitely a device for early adopters who know their way around troubleshooting software or devices without having their hand held over the phone. Once some of the potential hurdles are cleared, it's a sweet beast with lots of potential and more functionality coming online all the time. As we mentioned, this is a really basic computer for folks that just want the necessary numbers, so it's not going to have fancy functions or give you in-depth data or analysis. It is not GPS enabled, so you can't use it for navigation nor track your routes. There's no way to transfer your ride data to Strava or another third-party tracker, so it'll need to be done manually. This may suit many riders just fine, but for those that want a little more functionality, you'll need to look a little higher up the line for a more advanced, GPS-enabled computer

Positive: Easy to read, easy to reset, easy to fasten to the bike, as accurate as other Cat Eyes I've had, It doesn't clutter up the handlebars, looks spiffy Negative: I wish whoever writes the set up instructions would quit & get a job at Taco Bell. For the test I used the GW4 44mm BT and a Hammerhead Karoo 2 bike GPS paired with a Garmin chest strap to track distance, elevation, speed and heart rate. The ride data from my Karoo 2 was first uploaded to Strava, then synced to Samsung Health. The result show that the GW4 was very consistent with the data tracked by the Karoo 2 and Garmin chest strap. For some reason the graphs for the Karoo 2 are very smoothed out in Samsung Health, but I think this happened when the data synced from Strava to Samsung Health because the graphs do not look like that on Strava

The charging insert was just a mistake. A very nice unit with good value and reliable performance. I have had no cross interference problems with numerous lights and other devices.

This is currently on 100 right now, if you want it to be visible in the bright sun and that really eats into the battery life, so i think 10 to 11 hou...

When this arrived The unit did not work. I replaced the batteries and still nothing. I requested a replacement and when that one arrived I had the same issue. Replacement batteries did not fix the issue

Also I don't need to know when I have arrived because I have arrived. If I am routing to mike's burger shop when I am standing in front of a shop that says mike's burger shop I don't need you to tell me I am there.

So, I think the light interferes with the Quick's display circuitry, not the wireless signal between the fork sensor and the main unit. Bottom line: if you have a light on your bike, you need to keep it as far away from this computer as possible. Great in bright ambient light but no bueno in low light.
