DIY RAY

Bought this grinder for grinding fresh spices, herbs and seeds. The "blast of flavor" from fresh ground spices, seeds and herbs makes it worth the hassle of buying whole spices and seeds.

Great Spice Grinder

 I only have two problems with the use of it, and they really aren't major issues. Just me being picky. I have a little trouble getting the lid on. You have to line it up just right with the grooves on the top of the machine

 If you want a low-cost bean grinder, this is it. Just be careful when you are done, sometimes the lid does want to come off after you grind the beans. Especially if it's tipped or moved too much. The hidden cord "wrapped" around a drop-down base is a very nice feature as well

 Nothing like the smell of fresh ground coffee beans in the morning. Almost as good as the taste of the coffee made with them. Good value for the money - you won’t be disappointed. Would recommend buying a brush to brush out after grinding

 Whole beans have an oil on them so they stick a little in a fine layer after dumping out grinds. Brush makes cleaning a snap. Little grinding cup lifts out to easily dump grinds into coffee filter with no mess or to wash with soap & water when you want.

While this thing is really cheap, you can literally pay $4-$5 more and get a Krups which will likely last 15+ years. I should have done this when I purchased the Hamilton Beach. But, I figured I'd save a few bucks and about 20 extra minutes drive. Poor decision on my part, as this grinder isn't a value even if it were only $2

This grinder was indeed quiet, and it ground beans really fine. I know some complain about it spilling when you open it. But, if you tap it first, there is no problem with spilling.

The EK produces particles with greater uniformity of size. Its extractions are comprised of a higher proportion of similarly sized —which has a large impact on flavour. Many people have started to use the EK43 for espresso because of the consistency in particle size and extraction. The various beans I have tried with this machine seem to have a crispness in the flavour and seem to be less syrupy

 I&#39;ve compared them and have to say I get better flavor out of my EK. Never knew what I was missing. It&#39;s totally worth the investment in my book.

I've tried this grinder against my old Mazzer and hands down I prefer my EK over it. I know it&#39;s a towering beast but I have to say I&#39;m overall impressed at the flavor it brings out. I&#39;ve compared them and have to say I get better flavor out of my EK. Never knew what I was missing
