Hamilton Beach 4 Quart Programmable vs Crock-Pot Thermoshield SCCPCT600-B

This is a good product but it runs small. The description says it's 4 quarts but I poured water into it and was only able to get in 3.5 quarts. It cooks well and I like how it automatically flips over to "warm" when the cooking time is complete

The size of this Crock-Pot is also awesome it's just the right one for a family of five or more. I enjoy that I can either cook things on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours and I don't have to keep it cooking just to keep dinner warm because the automatic setting to keep things warm on its own. I'm really excited to have this Crock-Pot for family dinners or if someone comes over or even for the holidays. [This review was collected as part of a promotion

WORKED GREAT BUT THE LID LOCKING CLAMP BROKE OFF WHEN I WAS CLEANING IT. THE RIVET CAME LOOSE AND THE CLAMP WOULD NO LONGER LOCK. CANNOT EVEN FIND A REPLACEMENT LID ANYWHERE

In my opinion, this lid should have survived the tumble; it landed on carpet. At most, one might expect a crack in the glass; not complete obliteration. Update: Hamilton Beach customer service was extremely cooperative and thorough in investigating the incident. Their first concern was my well being, and if I required medical attention

2 Stars - I've purchased two of these units and each time the insert cracks and has to be replaced. Yet, whenever I've called to get a replacement they are on backorder and nearly the same price as buying a new one. I am now once again in need of another crock pot as I've tossed out my second unit. It still worked just fine but its useless without being able to replace the insert

The temperature control was good. The timer was perfect for the dish and it was very easy to clean. I did mine by soaking and then using a soapy sponge. It came out clean without scrubbing

If I need something to cook on low for 6 hours, well I'm out of luck and I'm stuck watching the crockpot. I really recommend getting a programmable crockpot to set the specific time, if it doesn't fit into the neat 4,6,8, or 10 time slots and so you can set the temperature. Other than that, the product is great quality, has a locking lid for easy transfer, and gets the job done.
