The Gregory Hydro 3D caught our attention for its durable and easy-to-use design. It is made from a thick, soft polymer that is pliable but strong and resistant to punctures and delamination. It utilizes a unique body-length handle that makes filling super easy in sinks and doesn't lose its position and rigidity, even when full. The screw-top lid is well built and easy to open and close, without the worry of threading it incorrectly. All components come completely apart, so it's easy to rinse out and dry, and there's also a drying hanger that we found especially useful in our kitchen.  The included bladder is a good one — a partial plastic frame and a handy clip keeps it from slumping when half full, the filling port is easy to open and fits ice cubes, and there are baffles in it to keep the water from sloshing around while riding. And at the hose end of the bladder, the bite valve allows a decent flow, a switch cuts off flow when needed, and a magnet holds it on the sternum strap.

I put a fair amount of time in the Endo 15 this summer and fall. At 15 liters, it’s one of the larger bike packs that Gregory makes, and it’s a size that I find works well on bigger rides where I want to bring more water, more layers, and more “just in case” type items. Gregory also makes the Endo 10, which (you guessed it) is a 10 liter version that’s essentially the same pack with a shallower main compartment.

But an all-day ride calls for a pack that can carry a lot of weight comfortably, and that’s where the Endo 15 comes in. Fully loaded down, the Endo 15 carries quite well, and if I kept everything cinched down, it did a good job of not swinging around all over the place on rowdier trails.

This is the 2nd one of these I've bought, that have failed. Silly me. First one I used about 15 times, it sprung a leak just in the middle of the bladder when I was deep in the Grand Canyon. This new one I've used 1x before this trip when the hose tore away from the bladder, losing all my water in minutes

Seems to be made from good materials and we’ll see how it holds up. I love Gregory’s system compared to other bladder systems.

The water bottle compression straps are pretty poorly implemented too. Just a bit in the way and not very helpful. 

It has compression straps on the top with clips that dig into your back because they’ve put them on the back panel instead of on the front. They’re also always in the way of opening and closing both pockets. It’s like they’ve angled them on purpose to get in the way. Some minimal design changes would make all the difference

It feels very cheap. The straps and fittings feel… I guess cheap is the best way to put it. I know there’s a lifetime guarantee but it still feels like things might break. They’re all very small and fiddly

So I just returned my Syncro 12…

  Its just too bulky to easily handle in such a manner.  Cleaning and drying are a royal P.I.T

Only thing it does well - Big Loads

I have been looking at Osprey bags myself for bike commuting, and narrowed down options to the Radial and the Syncro 20. The Radial is marketed as a 26L bag with ability to expand to 34L, but it looks massive in the pictures and video reviews I’ve seen online. I’m leaning towards the Syncro now, but this post on sizing issue worries me about it’s carrying capacity

I just wanted to warn people about an interesting experience I just had with Osprey. I had ordered the Osprey Daylite Travel Tote Pack because it appeared to be just the right size. The specs on the website put it at 16.93H X 14.96W X 8.27D IN. This seemed pretty perfect for me, and the weight seemed right for the size. 

Except there was a problem. When I received the bag it was only 16 H X 10 W X 8 D IN. It was “missing” almost 5 inches off the width!  In fact, it was smaller than my old Patagonia Ultralight Travel Tote Pack!  I called customer service to see what was going on. 

According to customer service, the width of the bag was measured when the bag was smashed flat. This included part of the side panels. I kid you not.  Worse, they did not use the depth of the bag when smashed flat (about 1-1/2 in). Instead they used the depth of the bag when the bag was filled. In short, they used the side panels for **both** the width and the depth of the bag. They mixed and matched measuring techniques to make the bag size appear larger than it was. 

This makes it impossible to estimate bag sizing. And we already know that the volume estimates are never accurate. 

Needless to say, I was pretty frustrated. I expect bag sizing to be some approximation of the bag dimensions when filled. 

Either measure it flat, or measure it full, but don’t mix and match!

Obviously the people doing the measuring aren’t the bag designers or the engineers.

Warning about Osprey bag sizing (highly deceptive sizing)

 I feel like soft items like jackets or layers are the only items that can truly take advantage of the Liter size of this pack. I have to revert to my previous pack, the Maxpedition Sitka 15L which fits everything even at 15L. I was hoping to switch to Osprey as I have their Kestrel 48L for backpacking and absolutely love it to be loyal to the brand but will unfortunately have to wait.

I was initially excited to use it as kind of the everyday commute and hiking back as it seemed versatile. Unfortunately, as I loaded the bag with my usual items for the day for the bike commute, that's where this bag began to show its flaws. To give perspective, my usual day to day commuting items include a 16oz coffee hydroflask, 24oz water hydroflask, 2 small packaged meals, 1 leather notebook, a GORE Biking Jacket, 1 3ft bike cable lock, and miscellaneous pens and phone charger. A lot of items but at 20L, this bag should hold all of the contents easily but it sadly does not

Disappointing

 I've added a camera clip to get additional space for the main compartment and thought about a mod to add trekking pole attachments similar to the Manta as the Syncro 20 just the right amount of capacity for my day treks. In final, this pack has redeeming qualities as I've now begun to use it more often but it isn't perfect, however, it is a comfortable pack I would recommend for trail and cycling.

 To give an idea what I was able to pack, I have uploaded a picture of what I brought during my treks. The single zipper for the front organization pocket is still a minor inconvenience but not a showstopper and I also would've preferred a buckle for the chest strap rather than magnetic. I've added a camera clip to get additional space for the main compartment and thought about a mod to add trekking pole attachments similar to the Manta as the Syncro 20 just the right amount of capacity for my day treks. In final, this pack has redeeming qualities as I've now begun to use it more often but it isn't perfect, however, it is a comfortable pack I would recommend for trail and cycling

Material is durable and held up to light bushwhacking since some trails have been overgrown due to the pandemic, it didn't snag or tear

Osprey Syncro 20 Hydration Pack

 Yeah, so this is it. Actually these are the pockets and this is the Wolf Gray edition. I did get this one because I need a backpack that is not gonna make me sweat or make my back wet when I'm riding my bicycle or walking around because it can get you know like sweaty and wet and even in the in the winter with pressure or something stuck to your back. So that's why I ordered this one because this one has the air speed and it's the first time that I'm using it and I have been riding my bicycle for about 40 minutes now

 Today I just got this backpack and I'm gonna show you directly what it's all about. and this is the Osprey Synchro 20. let's go. Now this is the backpack and I want to start with the side pockets because that's the easiest part to talk about

 It only has like one pull zipper. It's not too unused that Osprey puts two of these. but for this backpack and I guess it's a light and small one, they only use one so we open this up. It goes really light from this part up here to all
