[Music] Two more large stretch pockets on either side make a perfect spot for a water bottle and fishing pole or tax tapes. These pockets can also be cinched down to size and the straps can run either on top or through the pockets

The next morning, we woke up and packed up our bags once more and headed out to complete the rest of the High divide. Granite Gear Crown 2: Hands on Review.

 Let's get deep into it. Alright now in this part of the video I Want to pack this pack with everything that I normally carry on a weekend trip. My base weight. no real food but I'm gonna throw some water in here just to feel the weight of it

 This is a size regular so it goes a 18 to 21 centimeter back fitting but that's pretty. That's a that's a wide spectrum but I've never had a problem fitting in this pack and I'm a tall guy my son as well, he's wore it and he has no problem with it too. But it does have these load stabilizing straps here once you get it on to kind of bring it and have it tuck into your body. These dual density foam shoulder straps are great

 So my final thoughts on this pack is that it's well built. It's large enough to take all my gear that I would take on an extended weekend maybe even a week I don't know the food would fit or not, but what I like about this size is that it forces you to stay under 25 pounds like I would I would by having this pack I wouldn't be just throwing stuff in like I would just say well I'm just gonna take this hammock at the last minute. No, it would resist I would resist that type of thing and stay light which would be kind of cool. So I'm interested to see what you think about this 38 litre coming out in 2018, which is a really, really great option for people who like to go lighter

Granite Gear Crown2 38L (New 2018 Backpacking Gear) Review

My biggest gripe is the 6 side compression straps and the water bottle pockets. None of the straps are long enough to attach a foam pad to the outside when it is fully stuffed (except over the top, which I often do not like to do). Also, once fully stuffed the water bottle pockets are useless.

Needs some work but overall good

 The flip top compartment can also be removed if you don't want to use it. The shoulder straps and hip belt are very comfortable and all the straps can be easily adjusted so you can dial it up just how you want it. Another really cool feature is the hip belt. You can easily make it larger or smaller for a custom fit to your waist

 There's five compartments in all which includes the two side pockets. Seven if you count the hip pockets. The flip top compartment can also be removed if you don't want to use it. The shoulder straps and hip belt are very comfortable and all the straps can be easily adjusted so you can dial it up just how you want it

I outgrew my Camelbak Fourteener when it came to doing the longer day hikes. Needed the extra room for packing extra layers, more liters of water, etc. The Crown 2 38 has more than enough room for the extra stuff I like to take with me.

Great All-Around Backpack

 The build quality is superior. Everything from the fabric, to the straps, the stitching, and the zippers is very high quality. All have held up exceptionally to heavy abuse. 3

I’ve tried this for 250ish miles and can never get the right fit.  There r other small things wrong like the side pockets and shoulder straps / pads, but there r tons good too.  Talked to PCT thru hiker on last section and she loves hers and has 2500 miles.  It’s gotta fit and both of agreed that with this pack under 30 pounds is necessary

It just does not fit me

 With all of that being said, folks, let's go ahead, let's get to it. There's a lot to go over. To begin the review, let's start with stats concerning this backpack. There's a lot to go over and I will be as brief as possible

 So you have the sternum strap and you have the buckle right here that it clips into. The issue is is that oftentimes you will find that for some reason, this buckle does not clip into this one easily. I've spent seconds fooling around with this to get it to fit and so is Susan. So it's an issue on both the men's version and the female version

 For now, let's take a look at this backpack and go over the features of this. First off, you have this lid. here. This is fully removable

 Now let's talk about the sternum strap. This is a weird little issue with this pack, but it's one that I've had and Susan's had as well. So you have the sternum strap and you have the buckle right here that it clips into. The issue is is that oftentimes you will find that for some reason, this buckle does not clip into this one easily

 So say you're at base camp and you want to go just for a nice hike for maybe a 3/4 mile hike to check out some big view or to go get some water. That type of thing you don't want to take your whole pack. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take my brain off which normally people will take these off and they'll convert them or they'll convert naturally into a waist belt like the Nimbus does. It actually has straps for it, but the crown too doesn't come with that

 I like these Outdoor Research I Did a review on these two. You can check these out on the top right there. This is my really old one, my original, my newer one. I Lent it to a buddy who's going backpacking this weekend to try it out, but I think this is a great option if you've already got a crown and you're thinking hey man I want to go for day hikes as well

For all bikers, hikers and endurance athletes who want to have light luggage and a free back on a day trip. The pelvic straps nestle comfortably and reliably to the body, the Deuter Lite back system ensures the best ventilation. Everything important such as tools or provisions is well stored in various compartments. In the body-hugging compartment, the hydration bladder with 1.5 litre volume is transported, which has been adapted to the waist bag.

The Deuter Pulse 3 5L is an excellent compact hip pack with a somewhat unorthodox approach. While almost all of our test packs have an oblong, rectangular, or oval shape, the Pulse is square. While this may seem like a simple aesthetic move by Deuter, we also find it rather sensible. It creates a more compact storage area that occupies less horizontal space on your back with the weight nicely centered. Additionally, two pockets on the hip wings can fit snacks or other quick-access items and are big enough to hold some modern smartphones. We found the Pulse to have a comfortable fit, with large hip-cradling wings that provide a stable and secure hold on rough and rocky trails. It also boasts an impressively low weight among options with hydration systems. The quick-connect hose system is another huge bonus as it allows for much easier filling and cleaning of the bladder. 
Despite its unique and sensible shape, the Pulse can't compete with the top options in our review. The moderate-sized 5-liter storage area has enough space for a 2-3-hour ride, but it isn't quite big enough to pack substantial amounts of food or extra clothing. The hose attachment system is a little clunky, and it takes some force to reattach the hose to the clip on the waistband. When packed full, the pack doesn't hold its shape as well as some others and can be a little round against the back. However, these issues are relatively minor, and if you like the look and layout of this pack, it's a great compact option to have on hand for short to medium-length rides.

There are pockets for all the small tools/bits, a 2L bladder that's evenly distributed, the bladder design and thick straps make it so there is literally no bounce, and it's plenty big for rides under 3/4 hours! I'm in LOVE with this thing!!! Finally a perfect MTB hip pack!

Hands down best fanny for MTB!

This fanny has quickly replaced my ride pack because it holds everything just as well and is still super comfortable. I can fit in all my tools, snacks, 1L of water and a light jacket no problem!

The best fanny I never knew I needed

I used the Pulse 3 for training and all 539 miles of the Colorado Trail Race. I was very impressed with the light weight, durability (got caught in a bit of a torrential downpour and battled mudslides and 100's of down trees on a training ride) and comfort. I also raced enduro with the Pulse and it can withstand a crash, yet stays put during gnarly descents. I packed a goretex shell, Platypus, sat phone and various tools and toiletries in here for 7
