 These are taiwanese made. Ykk zippers, i can tell you already, which is okay um, they tend to be smooth. Go rocks take a little bit to get broken in, as you can see, um like this will take a little while to get smooth, whereas something like this bullet, which is already broken in, is just very smooth, but that's okay anyway, so that's it packed out. That'S kind of what it looks like i really like the shape the shapes a little bit more like this

I would say if the laptop compartment can really fit my MSI GS-65, it would be the perfect Ruck

with laptop sleeve in the main compartment is okay (a little tight), but than there is no false bottom protection for it

 But still you get this deeper rook for maybe deeper items that, whatever you carried, maybe a larger camera bag that you're going to throw in here some other items. They just want that deeper size. This would be the right size for you important to note, though. The big difference between this and a gr1 is the lack of the frame sheet

 So that's just something to point out again: just an all-around carry bag. I would not recommend putting steel plates in it if you were going to use steel plates i'd go with a rucker for sure, but if you were crazy enough to just want to get one bag and use it for everything and have that bomb proof pocket, you Could put a plate in here show a picture here of what that looks like how much gap you have to put a steel plate. I put the 20 pounder in there just to show you how big that would fit the 30 pounder would fit uh and it again it fits just fine, there's a little bit of a play in there, but not much, and i wouldn't recommend putting in the elastic Pocket because it's just going to fly out, crush whatever results is in there, maybe even slide up the hitch in the heads, and it's also rain proof. So, just like all the other goruck bags, um the material and the quality, is just fantastic and it's a rainproof bag

 It'S essentially a little bit deeper than the gr1 and a little bit shorter.  Now we can close that up and then yeah you're left with the main compartment. So i just have some. You know items to keep warm in here in case i'm going somewhere colder and yeah that rain jacket kind of juts into the bottom. Here, a little bit you can see, but other than that, just basically a pretty much just a big compartment laptop compartment is the back, which i really appreciate on the osprey farpoint, it's kind of in the front and just a little bit weird, at least on the Version we had tested a while back

 So it's got this kind of circular softer material as well. On the front there pretty ample space, so it's about this size in the front. I usually put my edc wallet edc items in there that i take out of my pockets while i'm biking so keys phone wallet. All that goes in here, while i'm biking and then for things that i access less frequently i like to put into this pouch or this pocket on the front here

 I just didn't really use it much. One of my favorite sternum strap designs is here it's just kind of on this rail. I like it, because you can just dial it into exactly where you need it relatively quickly and depending on what you have inside, you might have this position a little bit differently. So that's really easy built-in whistle up here at the top

 Those just kind of flap out in the wind, along with yeah these adjuster straps, and then you don't have them on the hip belt. Either. It'S not really a hip belt, more of like a waist belt. I guess because it doesn't hold any weight, but that's one thing: maybe if i was gon na make a recommendation to osprey, i mean this is a biking, bag and you're, usually like flying down the street

When I see a cycling specific backpack, I immediately go and judge it based on four aspects: Is it comfortable to wear when you're on the bicycle and when you're off the bicycle? Second, is it big enough and is it practical enough to keep everything that I need for work? Third, does it keep me safe and does it keep my things safe? And fourth, what is the build quality like? So let's jump right into it

 And the Metron also has a really good weight distribution, so it's got these comfortable straps. It's got the sternum strap, it's got a waist strap. The sternum strap is also fully adjustable in height so you can bring it down, bring it up so you can find the perfect fit. So even I found it that even if I had it fully loaded, it's It has a good weight distribution, which is really nice, especially when you're on the bike

Osprey Metron - A Commuter's Perspective

I commute on my bike daily and wanted to replace a torn up rolltop bag that I've had for years. I really like all of the Metron's features on paper, but a few things made it a hard sell: the backpack cannot stand on its own or even if it's against a chair, and it's a dust/hair/lint magnet (black variant).  The harness system is comfortable and provides a decent amount of airflow, and the quick access pocket on top is great for phones or glasses. Ultimately, though, the straitjacket mechanism is just too much of a hassle for my style of commuting and usage, though people love it based on the popularity of Osprey's Fairpoint line of bags

But these are the main fraction points in this bag. So if I open this up and I got my [Music] so if I open this up and I got my windbreaker right now in it like look, compression straps one number two. very easy to take out, you know here it is

 It shares the false bottom of the laptop sleeve, though it forgoes front-side padding.

 The zippers are tried-and-tested YKK with easily grabbable circular pulls. For hardware, there’s a mix of ITW and Woojin among the buckles and adjusters. In short, the METRON has the chops for even the toughest bike rides.

There’s no separate laptop compartment for the METRON. Instead, it’s in the rearmost side of the main compartment. There’s a laptop sleeve complete with a false bottom and a velcro tab, and it’s able to fit our 15-inch MacBook Pro with some wiggle room to spare. We tried fitting in a newer 16-inch MacBook Pro; it also fits inside and the velcro tab still attaches
