This backpack by Osprey is very well made but keep in mind this is a laptop backpack. It’s not going to take a lot and I am quite disappointed with the size. It’s long but thin. Zipper doesn’t go all around because of the bottle pocket will not allow for this

GORUCK GR1: Fit, Function, Packing in EVERY Mode - 6 YEAR REVIEW

 If you're at all familiar with the backpack space, then you'll know of Goruck's for now. Having spent some time with the Gr1 for ourselves, we'll be the first to tell you the bag doesn't disappoint. However, it's important to keep your expectations realistic. The Gr1 isn't abounding with organizational provisions, and it won't wow you with a bunch of fancy bells and whistles

 Because it's designed to double as a rucking bag, the Jr1 boasts some of the beefiest straps you'll find on a backpack. Where most packs typically come with some plushy mesh padding on their straps, the Gr1 instead sports two layers of dense foam, one to provide structure and the other to add a bit of comfort. They're pretty stiff when you first get the bag, but they'll break in more and more with continued use. It's worth noting, though the straps are pretty coarse

 However, it also makes the pocket into something of a bottomless black hole. Not a deal breaker by any means, just something to consider if you're packing and unpacking on the move. Because it's designed to double as a rucking bag, the Jr1 boasts some of the beefiest straps you'll find on a backpack. Where most packs typically come with some plushy mesh padding on their straps, the Gr1 instead sports two layers of dense foam, one to provide structure and the other to add a bit of comfort

 However, it's considerably more supportive, especially when combined with the interior frame sheet on body. It's completely absent of any hot spots whatsoever. No matter how much weight you're carrying, just be sure to check your size. Our tester stands a solid 511, and while the 21 liter makes for a great fit, the larger 26 liter model can be a bit long depending on the size of your torso

 It just screams “chic”! This is also very comfortable when worn, as the shoulder straps and back of the bag are very well-padded.  • Durability: As noted, this is well-padded and made of a solid polyester fabric material. As I intend to wear this for walks to/from the office and daytrips, I believe this should hold up just fine.  In summary, I love the color and comfort

I’ve owned many different kinds of travel backpacks. Although my luggage collection tends to be quite nice, my travel backpacks tend to be of the lower-end variety. I’ve heard great things about this brand, so I decided to give this a try. Here are some thoughts after a few daily uses along with a short weekend trip:  • Size: This is labeled as a large backpack

Not a full zip-around, but great for intraday use

 I imagine the carabiner on the right shoulder strap could come in handy to secure it to a chair or stroller when out in public and not wearing it on my back.

 I think this is due to the how little this protrudes away from your back, and the ridged foam back panel that gives it a nice flat surface that comfortably rests on your back. (pic of empty backpack staying flat when I’m holding it up horizontally) Photos are for size and volume. I do not have the best lighting, and the backpack looks much nicer in person. Also, in most photos, I left the water bottles in the outer pocket, which gives makes the backpack look uncharacteristically lumpy

  For the sake of this review and photos, I tried to fill the bag up to show what can fit. Even then, it was still very comfortable, definitely did not feel the weight like I would when using any other backpack I own. 4.5 stars, Great day bag / diaper bag

Great build quality, looks nice, minimal and slim despite the fact that it fits way more than it looks like it does. Great laptop and secondary laptop/iPad sleeve inside. Water resistant material, great ergonomics and spaces/pockets inside. Feels good on the back too

 I still have with this bag, the big one being with the water bottle pockets. So all that and more coming up in this video, let's get right into it, but first head over to packhacker.com for more information link down below you can have that open and follow along with this video, let's dive in [, Music, ], so the main fabric on The outside of this bag is a 600d picton fabric and this picks up less dust and lint than the previous version. If you go take a look at our quick hit on the manal daily original versus the 3

 For that pocket with that key clip and then just yeah ample space there so i'll just zip that back up and then we'll pop into this top pocket too. So i've got just a battery bank in here, but it can hold so much more in that top pocket see if i can get the camera here is getting a little tight, but that's kind of a really big shell, like brain area up here at the top. I mean i could probably stick my uh like rain shell in here too, if you really want to start getting it optimized and that the bottom of that pocket goes to here. So that's kind of the bigger volume of the two

 So let me just zip that, but actually first, let's go over the front pockets, so this curved spot up here has these two front pockets. So you have two front dump pockets here, which i like these zippers are far enough apart to where you can tell them apart quite nicely. If you really wanted to hack it, you could throw on like your own colored. Zipper pulls and know that like red is the top yellow is the bottom, but i think they've done a good job at spacing this out

 So you just kind of thread this through and then you'd have. This strap hold the laptop closer in and then you've got this separate partition. Here you could throw like a notebook in there, but primarily it's for like a tablet and that just keeps things centered. So if you end up dropping your bag on the side or the top or the bottom or this side, that laptop is going to be as centered as possible within the bag, so it just absorbs that shock on the side

To remedy this, we’ve been strategically packing out the compartment so that everything sits comfortably, and we don’t have any bulging gear or divots in the fabric. To give you a visual, we’ve been leaving room toward the top to accommodate the bulk of the quick-grab pocket. We’ve also been keeping the Travel Zip Hoodie from our collaboration with Wool & Prince (The Travel Collection) to fill in the space below and even out the compartment.

Above this pocket is another larger mesh pocket where we’ve been storing snacks inside Stasher Reusable Silicone Bags, in addition to an Amazon Kindle Paperwhite. We like the visibility the mesh offers and the overall low-profile nature of this organization. It offers convenient compartmentalization without impeding our packing of the rest of the compartment. 

Now, your laptop may shuffle around slightly, but Minaal came prepared for this. There are two loops above both openings that you can slip the straps through to get a tighter, more secure fit if your laptop is a different size. You can also choose to disengage the straps altogether for quicker access to your laptop when you’re going to be continually in and out of the bag. 

We can’t say we’re as big of fans of the organization in the laptop compartment, though—in particular, the pockets on the front flap. There are four sleeves—two larger, two smaller—that are oriented more for a briefcase carry, which is handy if that’s how you’re mostly using the bag. However, three out of the four sleeves don’t have any closure. As a result, the tech accessories we keep inside are continually slipping out as the bag gets jostled around and opened up
