I already liked the WebOS on the LG TV, and was curious to see how this new Chromecast would fare. Well, yesterday was the last day I'll be using it as my go-to device. The Chromecast is insulting; it's supposed to suggest movies and shows based on what you like, NOT on who pays Google the most. I've clicked on the "don't show services I don't use" toggle, but Google doesn't care

It's just an ad machine

 Roku, Xbox, etc). As a result, the user experience is a little inconsistent. The watchlist function helps a bit as you can build your "currently watching" or "library" list across multiple streaming services so they're all in one place. However, generally, when you click the item on your list (depending what it is of course) you'll still just be punted to the service it streams from - and you'll have to find it there anyway

 This function (a good idea and why I bought the device) appears to be limited to content with some kind of licensing deal in place to allow for it. As a result it's not necessarily recommending the latest and greatest content, nor is it able to play the content natively in the Google TV user interface. Most of the time, you're still going to have to click into the streaming service your show/movie is on and find it there.

  So yeah, a little disappointing (as licensing limitations usually are) for the audience/user. Google's marketing of this device/platform as an aggregator of all the streaming services should be much clearer about this limitation.  Also to note - the remote itself is slippery and hard to hold on to. Do yourself a favor and get one of the cheap silicone covers to help (sold here on Amazon of course)

Underwhelming content aggregation

I recently discovered making a speaker group of my Chromecast on Google home means I can listen to Spotify and watch the slideshow of my dog pictures on the TV.

What is the best Chromecast tip/hack/use you have discovered in the last month?

It's pretty good with a couple of small flaws

Why is the Bluetooth audio on the Chromecast with Google TV so bad. Don’t get me wrong, it’s better than not having any Bluetooth connectivity, but the amount of time I’ve spent reconnecting my AirPods over and over again while my food gets cold is ridiculous. It’s either too loud, too quiet, or the volume doesn’t change with the slider. It is very rarely correct, and when it is it’s after about 5 minutes of tinkering

Chromecast w/ ggl TV Bluetooth Audio

This is a great gadget to take your immersion with Google integration to the next level.  I love the ability to take all streaming platforms and present them in an integrated way.  Why toggle through Netflix and Prime and HBO go to find a comedy, when I can see them presented all in one ribbon, or have Google assistant display it with a verbal command.  Super intuitive and makes my life easier

Fantastic tool that constantly evolves

Been waiting for YEARS to be able to stream video on one device and have the audio play on another, can finally do it through Bluetooth. No need for cables across the room anymore. Reason for 4 star is that audio has a minimal stutter every now and then. Might get fixed in an update

 The UI is a HUGE improvement from the last gen Chromecast that used micro usb. Oh, that being said, USB-C finally! My one gripe is it doesn't come with the 4K adapter, yet advertises as 4K capable. Technically that's not a lie, but shame on Google for not making it clear that the power brick adapter is not included. Like the older Chromecasts, the 4K adapter is a separate wall plug that has an ethernet port on the wall plug

 This should be included or have a version that includes it, esp with how wasteful it is without it! Oh well. Google has been a tad shady with their products from Fi service to Pixel lines these days. While I strayed from those, the Chromecast is still the best for its value. I also just love the new UI, and the voice remote (it works pretty well)

 Alrighty, so let's go bang this bad boy in and see what we got. So the design of the Roku Stream and Stick 4K, nothing revolutionary like most Stream and Sticks, it is long and thin. The main thing to consider is that this thing needs to plug directly into your HDMI port, any free HDMI port, on the back of your telly, so you've got to make sure you've got room to accommodate it. And not just the stick itself, but also the power cable that then juts out the side of the thing once you get it connected
