I have a couple of the Goal Zero Torch 250 flashlights, so was excited to see they came out with a new model. I received one for Christmas, and was surprised to see how warm the light was. There is quite a difference between it and the original torch, which is more of a neutral to cool white. I checked the tech specs on Goal Zero's website, and the color temperature for the spot is 3000 Kelvin

 It reminds me of my old classic incandescent Maglite I carried years ago. If you prefer a warm white flashlight, then this might be a plus for you, as they seem harder to find these days.

I love this light as well as most of goal zero's products. It puts out a very bright beam/flood light, and the color temp is a nice bit warmer than the typical blue/cool white LED lights that dominate the market.  Maybe I have a bad unit, but the battery indicator always shows I have a full charge until the battery completely dies. It's accurate while charging but as soon as I take it off the plug, no battery how much charge is left it will always show 4 dots to indicate full charge

Great light, bad battery indicator

 (they own Goal Zero) so I like the company. Products NOT CHEAP but they are far better than the cheap $22 Mini-Solar lights (i have 10 of them, 7 died (battery, wiring, misc) after 1 year. These do last a long time and use them camping/car repair/when cooking in my back yard at night. Worth the extra price

I have many Goal Zero 250.. tough light.  This one is sexy.. 3.5  hours exactly flood.

 The solar option for charging is a bonus. Very happy with the light - the flashlight could stand to be a bit brighter, though - and quality is first-rate. Put 400-450 lumens in this puppy and I'd rank it 5 stars! I think it'll pair well with my Nomad solar panels.

Overall, this is a light worth having. With a usable flashlight beam and a great area flood, it's not just good to have during an outage or off the grid, it's just a handy light to have - period.  Generally I use mine on medium and at that setting the battery will last for 7.5 hours. If I'm ever trapped in Mammoth Caves in the apocalypse, moon should help me get out with 20 days of battery life.  The mag charger works perfectly, and I can use the old one from my S1R as well

  The only real cons of this light, which obviously don't matter much to me or I wouldn't have bought it, is that the battery is proprietary and you really need to wait for this to be on sale for it to be a competitive price. Also, because of how it charges you don't want to carry around the light with keys or something in your pocket that could short the terminals. Not waterproof either.  But overall, this is a very high quality product, durable and well made

I bought this lite to replace my loyal FOLOMOV EDC C4 not a chance, not even close, at twice the price of my loyal flashlight, it os very uncomffortable to use with the clip biting into your fingers every time you push the button, forcing you to use only their battery, get off your high horse Olight. Very poor design. I am through with Olight products.

Excellent build quality. At its brightest light this may even have defensive potential; two click clicks takes you to the Turbo setting (1,200 lumens) which is blinding. My only wish is that some kind of cap was provided for the base. The base is magnetized to retain the provided USB charger and the charging connections are open when not charging

Excellent in Most Respects

 The limitation is 500 Lumens for the older model so decided to buy this updated version. The description only state custom battery but nothing clearly stating incompatible with ALL other batteries until I read the owners manual. It's a bummer since the small 550mAh battery that comes with the light has less capacity than typical rechargeable 16340 or RCR123. Can't use the primary lithium batter either

Not only it has small capacity, I can't use any of my other batteries as a back up so when I do night walks or camping, I don't have any back up battery and would have to recharge the battery or just go back to the Baton I which accepts all batteries of comparable size.
