I have a couple of the Goal Zero Torch 250 flashlights, so was excited to see they came out with a new model. I received one for Christmas, and was surprised to see how warm the light was. There is quite a difference between it and the original torch, which is more of a neutral to cool white. I checked the tech specs on Goal Zero's website, and the color temperature for the spot is 3000 Kelvin

 It reminds me of my old classic incandescent Maglite I carried years ago. If you prefer a warm white flashlight, then this might be a plus for you, as they seem harder to find these days.

I love this light as well as most of goal zero's products. It puts out a very bright beam/flood light, and the color temp is a nice bit warmer than the typical blue/cool white LED lights that dominate the market. Great light, bad battery indicator

 (they own Goal Zero) so I like the company. Products NOT CHEAP but they are far better than the cheap $22 Mini-Solar lights (i have 10 of them, 7 died (battery, wiring, misc) after 1 year. These do last a long time and use them camping/car repair/when cooking in my back yard at night. Worth the extra price

I have many Goal Zero 250.. tough light.  This one is sexy.. 3.5  hours exactly flood.

 The solar option for charging is a bonus. Very happy with the light - the flashlight could stand to be a bit brighter, though - and quality is first-rate. Put 400-450 lumens in this puppy and I'd rank it 5 stars! I think it'll pair well with my Nomad solar panels.

Overall, this is a light worth having. With a usable flashlight beam and a great area flood, it's not just good to have during an outage or off the grid, it's just a handy light to have - period. I'd put the Convoy 4x18A sbt90.2 ahead of the K1 sbt90.2, just because the convoy has much better battery life. There's a lot Convoy makes that I'd consider better options than stuff from Hank, actually

This might be more subjective than objective, and I'm only a year or so into this hobby however I'm finding myself asking more and more where to from here (in a way less dramatic way than that sounded)? I'll never be a massive collector, I'm more of a 'thats my good EDC light' and 'thats my pocket thrower' type of guy. I have no aspirations to have 12 D4V2's in all the colours and emitter types, I just want one good one of each of the lights I'll use. Then over the years maybe trade up to nicer things.

Seems from reading here a lot all roads sort of lead back to Hank. I keep comparing things to the D18 or the K1 and for the money they almost never stack up. All I'm left thinking is that is now the time I start saving for a 'fancy' light? Again tho, are any of them actually any good or are you paying $1000 for some fancy designed titanium that wouldn't perform as well as the old favourite D4V2 (as an example)

So the question to you lot is, if you're not going for a more is more approach to acquiring lights what are u doing to keep the hobby alive.

And yes - are there actually any decent 'fancy' lights worth looking at?

 You know you really can't go wrong, especially if your budget is on the tight side. You can get one of these now. These here are budget friendly lights, they're, not extremely expensive. So, if you're needing a good quality light with a lot of light output, good run times, if you run a quality cell, i recommend the lg either one you're going to get some really good performance out of this light, and then, of course, you can table stand That as well all right well, i want to thank banggood
