3rd and last Gerber. I like the design but I'm tired of how DULL Gerber knives come. I can buy cheap Chinese junk at a flea market that comes sharper than any Gerber I have ever bought. Cheap stamped our pot metal blade that if made of wood might hold an edge better. Lost it's edge after getting halfway through skinning out a feral hog. This could such a good blade if made from better metal and by people who give a damn about quality. The gut hook is sharpened on one side

Bean counters shouldn't make knives.

I bought this for the handle design. Easier to hold on to with my arthritic thumbs. The blade makes skinning a breeze and the price is great!

 Welcome back to the outdoors, we have an awesome video plan for you today when we take a look at this budget-friendly tactical utility blade in the Glock. I believe model 81 field knife now this has been around for a long time. This is not anything new to the market, but this design I've never tested out before comes in a crazy budget price point and has, I believe, the potential to be a really good kind of do everything utility blade so we're gon na put it through its paces, Beat the heck out of it today run it up against a Mora, talked about its comparison to that some other tactical utility, blades they're close in price. I don't know any that are at this price, but we're gon na go through all that today, really thump on this blade and see what has to offer

 I'M not gon na accidentally slide up and hurt myself, and then this bent over top guard not only makes it easier for me to do push cuts and more woods craft based stuff, but then also acts as kind of like a little pry bar to be able To pop open crates and different things like that, that's kind of the the feeling in the design all right. Let'S hit this sheet that love the sheath, really well done. It'S only gon na add like an extra ounce and a half to the overall tool as well, which is great. So what we have is a very thin profile, polymer sheath here it'll rattle

Glock Field Knife: Why It Makes Sense

 This, hands-down, appears so far to be the best value and most versatile knife I've ever owned. (If I discover otherwise, I'll update my review.)

 It could have been sharper, but it was pretty sharp out of the box (unlike my latest Cold Steel knife, which was duller than some of my butter knives--no exaggeration!) so I can't complain too much.  The sheath is awesome, clipping the knife securely into place, and easily clipping onto a belt without forcing you to remove the belt first to slide it through the sheath's belt loop. I wish the clip release had a more ergonomic design to allow me to more easily press it with a thumb to remove the blade, but this is a pretty small problem in the scheme of things. The belt "clip" (not exactly a clip--you'd have to see it to see what I mean) allows you to lock it on so it can't fall off of your belt

 I'd love it if that were improved.  All of these problems are pretty small in light of both the quality and price of the knife. This, hands-down, appears so far to be the best value and most versatile knife I've ever owned. (If I discover otherwise, I'll update my review

Practically perfect in every way

 This knife is very light for the size which was important for me. The weight is in the handle side of the knife. The bottle opener is a bonus.  I have not used the saw yet but expect it to work well for kindle

As a retired police sergeant with 28 years on the streets I am very familiar with Glock handguns. I needed a hiking knife so I gave this Glock knife a try. I am very glad I did.  This knife is a solid value for the price point

Great hiking companion

-Hilt: the handle is made out of that famous and much-lauded Glock polymer. It is lightweight, comfortable, and grippy. While it can be scuffed fairly easily if you slam it against metal or rock, it will not crack or chip with hard use.

I have been a knife fan/collector for decades and have many knives, but out of all of them, this one gets used the most. The 81 is my all-purpose work knife, and I carry it around when doing pretty much any outdoor tasks. While the Glock 81 isn't the perfect knife, and there are definitely better ones out there, you just can't beat the value.

 If you are really serious about investing in a stabbing knife for self-defense, I would shell out the extra cash for a good double-edged dagger, like the KA-BAR EK 44.
