 These are actually made right here in the united states and i'll put a link to them down in the description. These are actually high speed, steel cutters. Now these cutters fit perfectly in the gerber center drive and they are ridiculously tough, like i cut a couple nails with them, and i still, i can't even tell where i did that, and the other thing is: if you accidentally damage one of these edges, you can Actually, rotate it without the whole thing cracking on you, so we are going to install those while we're at it and then we're going to talk about the rest of it now. The problem is, i think, the funny part here is that the center drive, the the cutters here are the same price

 Now, if i hadn't taken them apart, i probably wouldn't realize that all right and there you go so it's not perfect. I was trying to do it quickly, obviously, and through a viewfinder, but i think you get the idea at the very least i feel like this is an improvement over the original, because i don't have anything that i'm really actually worried about, and this allows me to Eliminate the flat head potentially from being held here, so it gives me additional functionality. I don't need a bottle opener on an item that has multiple flat surfaces. I can open a bottle on just about damn near anything, and i would much rather have small, narrow flat heads when i need them, and the fact that i can now use a saw potentially whether it's metal saw or wood saw, i can find replacement blades for This this is what the upgraded center drive should at least look like now

 I would rather have what another implement. That is inside the mp600 bladeless, and that is this exchanger now would it do i do i really do wish they would upgrade to the t-shanks instead of this old style, but i've looked around and you can still buy different blades in this in this basic idea. So what this is, it's basically a replaceable saw holder and in this video right after we're done with this, i am going to convert this to what i wish it really was, and that is where we're going to start right now now, as you can see, i Went ahead and took the tools out of the mp600 believe this ahead of time, so we didn't make this video too long. I am using proprietary tools that i got from russia, the same guy who created the loki wrenches that we talked about with the leathermans, but you don't actually need this

Upgrading the Gerber Centerdrive Multitool (the way it should be!)

 I now have a Leatherman wave with the ratchet with their bits. Not as quick as the Gerber but since they have no quality control on their products or staff I’ll live with the 3 seconds it takes me to set up the Leatherman to drive a screw.

 The one I got was defective, to tight. From where I got the center drive it would take a while to get another so I called Gerber and they said I would get a new one in 2 weeks. 6 weeks later I have 3 defective Center Drives and out $125. So if you do buy one, get it in a store so you can try it out and know you are on your own if the tool fails

What to choose with screwdriver focus

Well packaged, out the box I was pleasantly amazed at the weight of it, it was a nice weight, so you can tell it's not a cheap product. Once I took it out and started to see the different tools I was very impressed. The knife has a nice length and solid feel to it, no hesitation using it as it locks nice and firm. The screwdriver is definitely nice and sturdy, you can put a good amount of pressure to it and it feels nice and safe

 So it came down to that and do I really wanna spend a whopping $130 on basically a bulky Phillips and Flathead screwdriver?

 So there we go. The Gerber warranty is fantastic. I have a new issues in the past. Unlike a lot of American companies, they have people in the UK dealing with their with their warranty replacements, so it should all be handled very quickly if there's a problem, it's definitely always been handled quickly for me, even when it's been damaged, because I did something stupid With it, which has happened more often than I should probably I meant to so - let's just go straight into the tools

 Here they are replaceable much like weatherman's wire cutters are, but unlike lemons, wire cutters, they're also rotatable. The weatherman's here have one cutting surface. You damage it. You take take this piece away and put in a new one on the Gerber

 Instead of having to use your mostly. But because you had the bits from the multi-tool, you can do that so yeah. The bits are a big difference in the center drive and that element a hugely positive difference for me, and it also means that you can get different quality bits if you you'd have to spend 25 pound on a Leatherman bit say if you want a screw to Do actually specific job you want to just buy something, that's worth pence and use it, and if it breaks never mind, oh, so if you want to get good stuff, like we habits, you can do that as well. So, let's move on to where you keep your bits, which is the sheath

 You just put it in the set their most bits in the world, fit and work with the centre Drive, and it also means that if you are working somewhere for example - and you have your Center Drive on you and you have an impact driver - and you come Across a screw, that's maybe a hex screw. You might have the right bet in your Center Drive set and be able to swap it into your driver and do the screwing that you need to do with the proper tool with your impact driver. Instead of having to use your mostly. But because you had the bits from the multi-tool, you can do that so yeah

 154CM is about as good as you can get without entering "real pain to sharpen/very expensive" territory, while 420HC is about the lowest quality knife steel even worth considering, and the $15 difference at time of writing this review is absolutely worth it.

Nice, but not as nice as I was hoping and expecting

[URL REMOVED] I personally use an Osprey pack.  Many of them come in at or around 3 pounds, which is acceptable for me.  They are a great price for the quality and lifetime warranty.  

  I don't see a reason to carry both this and the tinder from the Zippo kit at the same time.  Pick one and leave the other.

Are people over "edc'ing" just to please this page? I won't ever understand the carrying of a multi-tool, a sak and a knife. I don't understand "Students" carrying pry bars, knives, and flashlights. I just don't get office workers carrying multi-tools.

That shows somebody at Leatherman is thinking when they're designing this lock and so the lock up is pretty solid and uh, you know, yeah, like I said, one 154cm is good to go. Uh, it has this bit driver here and the bit driver is actually it does have the lock for the bit and that's more than can be said for some of the other tools in the Leatherman lineup. So I appreciate that because the bid is basically carried externally

Everybody Nick Here and today a review for you of your Leatherman skeletal CX Um First, I Want to thank my buddy Jim for sending this along. It's a very nice little multi-tool that I really never have quite picked up because well, you know for a long time my everyday carry was actually one of these guys which is a little Leatherman squirt that's been mod beyond recognition. um beyond that I've also you know had a Leatherman Wave that I've loved, then a charge TTI and whatnot. and the skeletal promises to be a lighter weight version of something like your wave that you can really carry every day

 One little nice detail is that there's a washer surrounding the blade that actually stops the lock bar, so this knife can't suffer the liner lock failure. Whether the lock bar goes to the other side of the blade, it's prevented from doing that, which is just a nice little thing. and I'm glad they thought about doing that. That shows somebody at Leatherman is thinking when they're designing this lock and so the lock up is pretty solid and uh, you know, yeah, like I said, one 154cm is good to go

The Leatherman Skeletool CX Multitool: The Full Nick Shabazz Review

 Everything, especially the blade, locks in place when in use and doesn't rattle or play. The steel is very solid, the knife comes extremely sharp and retains its edge for a long time. By the way, in those sad places where they impose a limit on knives, often blades below a certain size are less restricted - I think it's no accident that this one has a blade just below the common 2.5" threshold

 I thought there must surely be a catch, but when I sent my very dirty, partially rusty, dull, poorly reassembled by me tool in for a cleanup, they did a great job fixing it up, making it look like new, and giving the blade an excellent edge. And all for free! All I had to do was print out a warranty form and send the tool in an envelope. This was 3 years after purchase - obviously I haven't really tested the lifetime claim yet, but even 3 years is a lot more than many other companies will give you, and the process was so smooth that it's literally easier for me to send it in than clean or sharpen it myself. And of course they do a better job than I could

It probably seems a bit silly to spend $80 on a pocket knife - I only got my first one because it was my birthday and I figured I'd treat myself. Am I glad to have done that! Unfortunately, that one got lost - when I gave up looking, I re-ordered without thinking. These things are amazing!  This tool is extremely high quality - the feel, the materials, the design, the hinges, everything is so well made it feels like you're holding a piece of art. The weight is just right - not too heavy and not too light, it feels perfect in your hand
