these switches are probably the best ones if you are on a budget. tbh they are really good stock but I wanted to go the extra mile and lube them myself and they sound even better even though they were kind already factory lubed. I 100% would recommend these.

I used this for my first keboard build

My usual budget recommendation is a plastic 60% case, DZ60 and a plate of your choice from KBDfans. Cherry screw-in stabilizers, Gateron Milky top Yellow switches and a cheap set of PBT keycaps from Aliexpress.

Recently, I have been doing research on building a keyboard for myself, but honestly I just don't know how to start, so I'm asking yall!

 All I really am looking for is a hotswappable keyboard with decent linear switches. Im hoping to spend no more than $120. Is that an ok budget for a (at least partly) custom keyboard?

 As for the Txc linear switch, this might be the best source for budget extended pole stems that I have seen on the market. They are significantly longer than Gattering Creams and many other popular stock linear switches. The stem is long enough to protrude from the top housing and it delivers a strong, decisive clack on its bottom mount. It is smoother than Nk Creams gathering creams and yellow stock, which is a nice surprise

 Both the ruby and the Sapphire variants are sprinkled with glitter and look really nice, especially for the price. Now, what makes these so much different from the first pair of Budget switches by taxi? Well, these switches both feature a lighter bottom out weight of 63.5 grams, so they are significantly lighter feeling. These switches also use progressive springs, so their initial press weight feels very light and it progressively gets heavier as it reaches bottom out

 To explain this, its initial press weight seems to be around 50 grams. Following that, it actuates at around 52 grams and then it continues to get progressively heavier. Following that until it reaches its stated 63 gram bottom out. This might sound strange, but this type of spring is meant to encourage lighter touch typing, but here, it doesn't really feel much different besides the fact that the initial press feels moderately lighter than the rest of the press does
