Just ordered one with Gateron Brown switches. I wanted hot-swappable but for practicality, I won’t be switching out switches ever.

k8 just arrived and im already in love... first mechanical keyboard ever...

Perhaps unsurprisingly, both Cherry MX and Gateron browns came out at the bottom of the ranking by this measure. On top of that, some experiments I did with swapping in more tactile stems confirm that the brown switches also have relatively weak tactile leaf springs.

 Preferably I'd like something with a bit more heft to it since I find myself registering keystrokes I didn't mean to hit just by resting my fingers on the keys. TLDR; Gateron browns feel too light, want a more hefty tactile switch.

Could you help me with ordering other parts which I need to build whole keyboard? Need PCB USB-C with SMD RGB LEDs for sideglow which supports MX Style switches. Should I keep default aluminium plate or just get myslelf a brass plate for my Holy Panda switches. And last thing is that I need to know what stabilizers and lube should I get. Hi - I'm getting a Keychron K8 hotswap, coming with Cherry brown's. If I want to swap those switches out, do the replacement switches have to also match an MX pin profile to fit on the board? Or are the underside of switches standardized and its only the stems that are different?

I've read through the wiki and the subreddit and seen a lot of discussion about key profiles, but are there any compatibility issues if I buy any given keycap? (Aside from making sure that my caps match my switches). For reference, I'm buying a Leopold FC750R. Thanks!

I have a Leopold 750R with Cherry MX Browns. Sometimes I hear a squeak in the spacebar when I type. Every other key feels fine. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it without having to desolder or dismantle the whole keyboard ?

Gateron Ink v2 Series Switches 

The Gateron Ink switches feature a transparent smokey housing. This switch is made out of a new type of plastic. The spring inside is coated black to match the switch housing. This switch is very smooth and has little spring crunch. 

The v2's now have an upgraded housing that helps make the contact leaves more secure. Contact leaves are still able to be pressed out with your thumb, but do not fall out while turning the switches upside down in our testing.

 The switches arrived in a little bag of 70, and were packaged well inside a box. The switches are genuine Gaterons as far as I can tell and feel really smooth. But the real magic of the Gateron Black Ink V2 reveals itself after lubing them. Using an aluminium switch opener and lubing the switch and throwing an Akko ASA profile keycap on them, it sounds FANTASTIC
