Battery life: with one check in the system completely died the first day of use. It was fully charged and as stated it is suppose to last for 14 days with 10 minute pings. Unfortunately, it did not. 😪

I use this for offshore sailing, but that is beside the point for my main concern for this product, which is Earthmate and the Iridium cost for its value. The on-device user interface is clearly insufficient for sending messages, or even reading received ones. The Earthmate app is meant to be the primary way to use the inReach Mini. And that would be fine, except that about 50% of the messages the inReach device received never arrived at the phone through Earthmate
