 Before with the F6x, it would take a few steps to lock out in the open.  Out of the box, my F7x was on the 7.20 firmware. Earlier this week while sitting at my desk, I received a vibrate alert and the message onscreen said it was upgrading to new 7

 With it fully charged and all sensors on, it said 20-day battery life. Simply amazing. My F6x on a full charge said it would last 10 days but it worked out to be only 5. The big dip came when Sleep Score was introduced but it could have been the battery was on its way out

 The F7x does not disappoint with battery… until I saw the Instinct 2 Solar specs. I pulled it out of the box on 1/26 at 80% charge and only charged it on 2/10 when it reached 20%. With it fully charged and all sensors on, it said 20-day battery life. Simply amazing

Amazing watch with nothing missed from older models

Battery life is great, tracking is excellent, and I'm really impressed by everything it does and how well. Also a huge fan of the transflective screen vs AMOLED. Indoors, it looks like a normal watch and not my phone. In bed, I can check it without being blinded

 I really want to give this 5 stars.  THE ONLY ISSUE is the fitness tracker/recommendations. I have been working out A TON ever since I got this, which was sort of the point. This watch wants me to slow down and do more "low aerobic" activities

 Battery life is superb. Super easy to use, and they seem to have thought of everything (example: turning off touch screen while you're recording an exercise activity but still allowing scrolling/functionality with intuitive button presses). The data collected are really helpful, especially if you sync them with Strava (subscription costs extra). I bought the HRM-one heart rate monitor to pair with it and it works very well

Probably Deserves 5, But...

 Fenix 7 vs Fenix 6 To be honest, there's not much of difference between two generations other than 1. 7 has touch screen and 6 doesn't 2. 7 supports most languages and 6 doesn't 3. 7 has a bit more solar charging area than 6 So, if you don't need other language support and don't use map often, go ahead and grab a Fenix 6 instead

 7 has much longer battery life. Almost three weeks vs 5's one week. This is huge, but I think it's mostly from better power management rather than solar charging. I wear it 7/24 and never take it off

 For the 5, it often brushes off 10% of the battery by doing so. Now the 7 takes only 4% off the charge 2. 7 is 5.5 grams lighter than 5

 No wonder all the reviewers crow about is the battery life becasue that is the single positive thing about this watch.  I came here from the Samsung 3, which was a great smart watch but only pairs with Samsung phones. it does a lot of things but...$800 are really not worth it, especially when a lot of those things are done at half the price from other smartwatches - even from the same manufacturer! after a few days I have returned it

If you compare the Enduro to the Fenix 6 Pro Solar edition (which has the same hidden solar-panel display as the Enduro), both watches are a wince-inducing $800. The Fenix is a bit more svelte and has a very slightly smaller screen, but otherwise they’re the same. You just have to choose, do you want maps and all the features they come with, or do you want double the battery life? Garmin could have easily given you both — and perhaps the Fenix 7 or Enduro 2 will have both, or a firmware update could bring maps and music to the Enduro — but for now it’s an either / or between two fantastic features. 

In addition to being a training watch, it has basic smartwatch features, including displaying notifications from your phone. Android users (like me, I tested it with a Pixel 5) can quick reply to messages from the watch (unfortunately Apple has blocked this feature on the iPhone for any device except the Apple Watch, which seems pretty anti-competitive if you ask me). 

 You can choose to have it track your pulse ox 24/7, but that will take a big bite out of your battery life. You can also choose to just track pulse ox as you sleep, which might be good for someone who suffers from sleep apnea. If you don’t have any underlying health concerns, though, I’d just leave it off and check it on demand whenever you want. 

The Enduro is primarily a training watch, and it has all of the excellent tools that the Fenix line has, including Body Battery (which surprisingly mapped quite closely to how well rested or depleted I felt), Stress, VO2 Max over time, as well as Training Status. There are some new features debuting on this watch as well. One of the most useful I found was Trail Run VO2 Max. It takes terrain into account, so if you’re running slower because of rocks, it won’t give you an artificially low V02 Max score

The fitness watch that lives up to its name

 Solar option lessen anxiety but it recharges not very efficiently. I had a Forerunner 935 and the battery life was diminishing: The functions/menu are nearly identical but with an obvious delay with each press of the buttons with the Enduro..

Love my Enduro so far...

  At the beginning, with the software 15.20 there are quite a lot of bugs especially crashed during saving the activities and lost all the workout load. Garmin this time did not disappoint me and issued the software update 16.30 and it resolved the problems

45 miles trail run. The watch froze at the saving screen (see attached) for a long time and eventually restarted. Garmin issued an update to 16.70 and it seems resolving the problem but we will see if the problem persist again
