So overall should you get this watch? I feel like if you don't have a Apple of Samsung phone, yes get this watch. So, when I walked the neighborhood loop to my house, it really is nice when my Charge 4 let me know that I also did the equivalent of about 10 flights of stairs with each loop. Without the altimeter, that information cannot be shown.

The Pro 3 lasts pretty much forever. The Gen 5 usually lasts a day with everything enabled except tilt-to-wake. The Gen 5 can stretch to 2 days with the Always-on screen disabled while the Pro 3 easily makes it through 2 days with everything enabled except tilt-to-wake.

One downside is the apparent need to sign up for an expensive membership, but I figured I'd give it a year and let the Fitbit ecosystem prove its value. The trouble started almost immediately when I unboxed the device and went through the initial setup. Total PTSD, from previous attempts to use Fitbit hardware & software. Here, the device kept failing to perform the initial software update

Hope you are happy with yours. My first advice is to make sure you charge it with a 1amp or less source. Fossil warns that a higher current charger could heat the charging rings and loosen the glue.

The Fitbit Charge 5 is better in every way except form/fit. As long as you can stand something on your wrist, I highly advise against the Oura ring.

The app and restrictions are a little more with iPhone, just an FYI. I don’t use this watch for health tracking or sleep tracking. It’s more for the convenience of getting notifications and updates on my wrist without having to look at my phone. This watch works great for that! Notifications work seemlessly

I can comment on the Charge 5 comfort - it's amazing, I have it on 24/7 and don't even know it's there.

- the time needed to update and sync between FB5 and app is almost instantaneous when the app is opened and is a great change - no more, "hold, this is taking longer than expected" and sometimes having to restart the process on the FB3
