Flashforge Creator Pro vs Ultimaker S5

I also see a lot of people reccomend the Prusia mk3s. OP, these are great printers but I want you to understand what you are paying for when you buy the printer. The I3 (bedflinger) design is one of the cheapest designs on the market and a Prusia mk3s probably costs about $500-$600 (US) in parts but the rest of the cost is people checking all the electrical components to see if they function properly, research and development into new iterations and for extensive, high quality customer support. If you buy the prebuilt then you will also be paying for someone to put the printer together and run a ~2 hour test print to make sure the thing works

It's cheaper to buy a 7k Ultimaker than hire a dedicated person to fiddle with a 250 euro printer. For me the printers are just a tiny part of my work because they are so reliable, we have a Prusa that we don't use because I don't have the time to keep it running.

I have been using this machine a lot for nearly two weeks now and I'm very happy with it. Details: I needed a 3D printer not as a hobby, but because I need to prototype enclosures for electronic devices. As such, I wanted something reliable, that would work right out of the box with minimal fussing. I also wanted to be able to print using ABS and be able to print supports with soluble material

But the ones we've tested haven't printed large objects with the same versatility and in the quality those users demand. Even the Formlabs Form 2, our Editors' Choice professional 3D printer, has a considerably smaller build volume and can print in a much smaller range of colors. (Its peak quality is higher than the S5's, though, and it uses a wholly different printing technology.) The S5 offers enough to earn its own Editors' Choice as a pro-grade, filament-based 3D printer

I really wanted to like this printer but for the price, its just not worth it. You can get more functionality from a Chinese cloned printer that costs less than half the price of the creator pro.
