I also don't like the fad of using mesh on the straps. It doesn't provide any benefit. The mesh used is abrasive against the skin and also feels hot against the skin.

 I Have a GoPro in there and some other equipment and you have a main top, the zippered compartment, and above the zippers, you have the Burgh shell fabric protecting those zippers and making those if is a lot more water resistant. So on the back you have of course a grab handle, two shoulder straps with latch points - Arctic Fox logos on them, sternum strap you got a nice mesh back panel on the on the shoulder straps and and here and that's pretty much it. So I'm going to talk about something inside that I really really like. So I unzip the top pocket and if you see here inside is white, really white and bright which is the point so it's easy to find things in air, especially if you have different colored things in your backpack

 I also love the hydration system of how it is easy to work with. I've had some bags that are really hard to maneuver your straws through and this is a really great hydration support system. I already told you about the zippers, switching them out would be ideal or just making this one waterproof as well as a top hatch. The idea that I got this backpack was to come hiking and have it

 I love the components of all the straps. The one thing that does get to me is the length of all the straps. They are meant to be long so that you can adjust your load capacity and fit a lot of stuff in and then cinch stuff down and you wouldn't want something that is too short because then you couldn't really adjust it and cinch it. But there are times you know when I'm doing day hikes and don't need all of the room that these straps just are everywhere and I have to find places to tuck them in and hide them away so that they don't get hung up on tree branches

 Here we have a front and a back handle that are really strong and meant for my nose and meant for, um, packing around. Where you have a large capacity bag, you can maneuver it really well. This strap is a point that I really like in this bag. You can cover up the top of your bag and it can hook onto there and you can cinch it down

 Both sides have straps that are meant for compression but also are really nice for securing extra things like my trekking poles. Because of the coating on the back, I know that these checking poles are really securely in there and with the two compression straps, you can snug them in tightly so they're not going to be flopping around and then this also has another strap on the pouch itself which tightens up on the other side. I tend to carry extra water and so this compression strap is really handy for holding my water bottle in place without it. Anytime I bend over, say to tie my shoes or anything like that, it just flops out so this is very handy to keep that secure

- The ice axe attachment loops are too small for my Petzl Sum'tec ice axe. This is really disappointing for me. A more traditional style axe fits fine, but the trig rest of the Sumtec makes it very difficult to fit through. Really on this this back there should be the more modern ice axe attachments with the metal bits that go through the head of the axe

I like the pack but some downsides for my gear.

Carries like a dream I would go with the smaller of the 2 size’s if you are on the fence about which size otherwise awesome pack, straps where you need them and and none where you don’t

 so it's extra burly and extra water resistant for years of abuse on the front on the crampon pocket, here we have Dimension Paulien DX 40 which is super burly and can take crampons and all the abuse of an ice axe rubbing against it. On the front of the AMG there's an oversized crampon pocket and then just behind that there is an exterior storage pocket which can fit a lot of things, but specifically has sleeves for a probe and a shovel and everything you need for traveling on snow. On the front of the AMG there's two ice axe loops for a basic tool carry. On the front of the AMG there's compression straps that can tuck and hide behind the crampon pocket, but come out if you need to overload and put a sleeping pad on the front, or if you just really need that extra compression to lock everything down
