 Ok, I'm at the bottom of the hill, time to take the cables off, disconnect from the hill, and we're good to go.

 One of the interesting features of these Vole 3-pin bindings are these cable accessories, and they simply attach onto the binding pretty easily, and then they clamp around the heel of your boot. And what this cable does is it provides resistance to that forward movement, and that helps on that trailing ski when you're doing the tail mark turn, it allows you to apply more pressure to that rear ski, and that's the key to really good tail mark turns. One of the downsides is they restrict that forward movement, so if you're ski touring where you have a little bit of up and a little bit of down, a little bit of up and a little bit of down, a little bit of level, that resistive force is great for the down, but it actually limits your mobility on the flats and on the uphill. So the only time I ever put them on is like today when I know I'm going to be skiing downhill for 20 or 30 minutes straight, I would never put them on for just a little rolling hills or up or down

 There's a little tab here for self-adhesive, and all you do is you insert the skin through the hole that's cut in the ski, and you can see on the other side here, it just simply slides into this little catch right here, and then making sure all the snow and ice and water are off the base, you simply adhere them. And that gives you just a little bit of extra grip for icy surfaces, and they come off just as easily as they go on, you just peel them right off, push up on this. The crown pattern extends from here to here, which is a significant portion of the ski, so they're really designed to give you a lot of grip on the uphill climb, and they climb very well. They also manufacture what's called an easy skin, and sometimes when the conditions are really icy and the typical fish scale type of pattern does not work very well on sheer ice, sometimes you'll need skins. And the mini skins are fairly short, as you can see they only extend over a portion of the crown system, but they go on pretty easily

My review of the 2016 Fischer S-Bound 98 Ski, the Voile 3-pin cable binding and the Fischer BCX 675 boot.  This is a great setup for off track conditions in the area where I live.  I've skied everything from soft powder to wet slush and love this setup.  They are too wide and heavy for use on groomed trails, but perfect in the backcountry when you need some extra flotation.

 I'm not an expert reviewer, I obviously haven't skied on every make and type of ski that's

 out there, but I've put a lot of miles on skis over the years, and I've owned a lot

 of different pairs, and I really think these Fisher S-bound 98s are probably my favorite

 Of course these aren't my only skis, I've got track skis and heavier duty skis for the

 steep and the deep, but I really like these Fisher S-bound 98s.

 I have them, a set of Bolle 3-pin bindings and Fisher BCX 675 3-pin boots mounted to

 They work really well, I'm happy with that combination, they're light enough that you

 can do a climb like this without a whole lot of effort, and they offer enough control that

 As you descend in size the turn radius also goes down so it definitely depends on what size you what length you go with. So all in all just a really approachable powerful ski but without that demanding feel and that added weight and I would definitely recommend these to anyone who's looking for a one ski quiver for anywhere from intermediate to advanced skiers.  Welcome to our 2023 ski test. Here in front of me I have the Rossignol Rallybird 92. Now this is probably one of my favorite series of skis, the Rallybird lineup. This is the narrowest option in the Rallybird lineup

 When you're pressing into the tip of the ski the damp tech and air tip technology really just does a great job at keeping it light and maneuverable on the tips. So it just makes for some really effortless control. You stay really stable underfoot but then as you turn and maneuver in through the tips they do a great job at kind of distributing and absorbing any unwanted vibrations. Looking at the shape and profile as I said definitely a directional all-mountain frontside ski

 Looking at the construction we have a Polonia wood core so we get that light but damp feel. Great for maneuverability and agility. We also have Diego fibers with damp tech technology, a lot to say, as well as air tip. So what that all does is it just really helps with smoothness, stability when you start to flex the ski and you're on any sort of variable terrain, any chunder or crud
