Generally, the Fischer My Pro MT 86 received passing grades for Stability, however testers varied on their scores because the Stability was excellent in short to medium radius turns, however, Stability decreased as turn radius and speed increased. Also, since the ski was tested head-to-head with other skis that hover around the 86 to 88 mm waist width, testers felt this Fischer lacked in stability once they took the ski off the groomers. One tester said that the ski “has trouble in cut up or variable snow.” Another tester felt that stability decreased in bumps, saying “the flat tails stayed a little hooked up in bumps

The ski’s construction has three weight-saving elements: 1) Air Tec technology, which Fischer has employed for a while, involves milling out the poplar wood core in strategic places in order to retain torsional rigidity while also reducing weight. 2) The Razorshape, named after the beveled sidewalls—the ski has a sandwich sidewall construction, but the bevel reduces weight as well as lateral resistance in the turn. 3) Lastly, carbon fiber is used in the layup as another method to reduce weight while retaining integrity and power. Other technical details include tip rocker, a flat tail and a forward mountain position

 One tester said that the ski “has trouble in cut up or variable snow.” Another tester felt that stability decreased in bumps, saying “the flat tails stayed a little hooked up in bumps.” All in the all, the Fischer My Pro MT 86 behaves like a frontside carver, embodying a slalom-oriented personality.

Testers scored the Fischer My Pro MT 86 relatively low for Turn Shape Variability because the ski outperformed in slalom turns versus GS turns. “This ski is for short turn lovers and quick cruisers,” says one tester. The ski felt less reliable in long turns in terms of Stability and Edge-hold. The ski shape and profile combine carving and all-mountain elements, but the flat tail, weight reducing elements and mid-80s mm waist push the ski toward carving rather than all-mountain qualities

 So it's not getting into that 110, 115 range, which is more of a powder specific ski, 100 underfoot, closer around that Ultra Vector that I was talking about. Kind of depends on your style, but I think the 104, if you had to go with one, this is probably going to be it. And that's kind of what they're touting it as is sort of this one quiver, kind of a true quiver killer ski, you know, that you only need one ski for all things. And yeah, so that's kind of where we're at with that, just to kind of give you guys a little bit of the features

 What's up Free Heel Lifers, today I'm going to be doing a review of the Volay Mantai Ski

 that's brand new for this year in the Volay lineup.

 I'm really excited about this one to go try it out.

 Just to kind of give you guys a little bit about myself, I'm about 5'11", I'm about

 195 pounds, I'm an aggressive skier and I like to get after it.

 So that's kind of how I'm going to approach most of the skis that I'm skiing, although

 I am fully aware that there's lots of different styles of skiing.

 So I'm going to try and always talk about it like that in terms of who this ski may

 be good for and who it may or may not be.

 I haven't skied it yet, but I'm familiar with the Volay lineup, just so you guys kind

 of know, some of the Volay skis I'm not as big a fan of, especially inbounds, the V6,

 the V8, kind of that lineup, they're awesome backcountry skis, they're softer, especially

 So I'm going to take out the 181 centimeter ski, which is 104 underfoot.

 So that 104 underfoot for the Wasatch, which is our main mountain range here in Utah, is

 It's a little bit easier to see when you put both skis together, but what it does is I

 think this is probably the greatest invention for telemark skiers ever, because what it

 allows is when you're on your inside foot, which is your uphill ski, the one that you're

 dropping the knee on, this helps plane it upward towards the surface on a soft snow

 day or if you're going through crud, same thing.

 It's kind of, kind of allowing that tip to stay upward.

 In the past, anybody who has telemarked for a long time and has skied on a ski that doesn't
