Generally, the Fischer My Pro MT 86 received passing grades for Stability, however testers varied on their scores because the Stability was excellent in short to medium radius turns, however, Stability decreased as turn radius and speed increased. Also, since the ski was tested head-to-head with other skis that hover around the 86 to 88 mm waist width, testers felt this Fischer lacked in stability once they took the ski off the groomers. One tester said that the ski “has trouble in cut up or variable snow.” Another tester felt that stability decreased in bumps, saying “the flat tails stayed a little hooked up in bumps

The ski’s construction has three weight-saving elements: 1) Air Tec technology, which Fischer has employed for a while, involves milling out the poplar wood core in strategic places in order to retain torsional rigidity while also reducing weight. 2) The Razorshape, named after the beveled sidewalls—the ski has a sandwich sidewall construction, but the bevel reduces weight as well as lateral resistance in the turn. 3) Lastly, carbon fiber is used in the layup as another method to reduce weight while retaining integrity and power. Other technical details include tip rocker, a flat tail and a forward mountain position

 One tester said that the ski “has trouble in cut up or variable snow.” Another tester felt that stability decreased in bumps, saying “the flat tails stayed a little hooked up in bumps.” All in the all, the Fischer My Pro MT 86 behaves like a frontside carver, embodying a slalom-oriented personality.

Testers scored the Fischer My Pro MT 86 relatively low for Turn Shape Variability because the ski outperformed in slalom turns versus GS turns. “This ski is for short turn lovers and quick cruisers,” says one tester. The ski felt less reliable in long turns in terms of Stability and Edge-hold. The ski shape and profile combine carving and all-mountain elements, but the flat tail, weight reducing elements and mid-80s mm waist push the ski toward carving rather than all-mountain qualities

 It's still stable and damp. Yeah, the Nia Pro is an awesome ski. I'd recommend it for any female rider who's intermediate advanced expert, who's looking for a fun, surfy, playful ski for a little bit deeper days and just kind of some big mountain riding. All right, next up, we've got the Atris, the Black Crows Atris Birdie, a huge shop favorite here among all Powder 7 savers, 108 underfoot, so definitely more soft snow oriented

 This ski honestly is one of the most chargey big mountain skis, in my opinion, without it being super stiff and aggressive. It's perfect for the female or the male who wants to ski a ski with a beautiful top sheet. It's relatively surfy, but you do still have some backbone. So when you get going through some crud, it's going to bust through that without it being too stiff and aggressive for the more like intermediate to advanced level skier who still wants to be able to ski through powder kind of easily and ski through the trees pretty easily

 As always, Icelandic does a great job with their topsheets every year. Yeah, the Nia Pro, it's 105 underfoot, it's a fully rockered ski, so it's pretty surfy and playful, an absolute blast when you're going through the trees. I'd never really skied the trees before, and then when I was on the Nia Pro, I'd heard how fun it is going through the trees, so I popped in and it was super easy, very pivoty, and it kind of skied through the trees by itself, and I didn't really have to do anything. So obviously I was hooked on the trees and never really skied the groomers anymore, but when you do get back on the groomers on the Nia Pro, even though it is a pretty playful, fully rockered ski, when you lay it on its edge, it actually still holds pretty well

 It's a little bit different than other Santa Ana skis. It's got a little bit more rocker in the tip and tail. You're a little bit more centered on it also, so it's a little bit more pivoty, a little bit more slashy, but still got all that metal in it like the Enforcer and other Santa Anas to help you really plow through any kind of cruddy or variable snow. I think it's great for kind of those chopped up powder days if you get up to the mountain a little bit late and the snow's a little bit chopped up and skied out, this thing still holds super well, stays super stable, and it's still super fun in the soft stuff too

Best Women's Big-Mountain/Freeride Skis of 2022 | Powder7

 We've got some staff here today to talk about our favorite women's big mountain skis.

 These are going to be skis 100 to 110 underfoot, a little bit wider, a little bit more soft

 First up, we've got one of my all-time favorites, the Nordica Santa Ana 104 Free.

 It's a little bit different than other Santa Ana skis.

 It's got a little bit more rocker in the tip and tail.

 You're a little bit more centered on it also, so it's a little bit more pivoty, a little

 bit more slashy, but still got all that metal in it like the Enforcer and other Santa Anas

 to help you really plow through any kind of cruddy or variable snow.

 I think it's great for kind of those chopped up powder days if you get up to the mountain

 a little bit late and the snow's a little bit chopped up and skied out, this thing still

 holds super well, stays super stable, and it's still super fun in the soft stuff too.

 Really surfy, playful, it's a really fun ski.

 For the Santa Ana series, they remove a little bit of metal out of there to make it a little

 bit lighter, a little bit more playful, which I think is great.

 Keeps the ski really light and poppy, and I think it's a great one.

 Today I'm here to talk about the Icelandic Nia Pro, made by Icelandic, which is right

 down the street from Powder 7's World Headquarters in Golden, Colorado.

 Super big fan of Icelandic skis, and the Nia Pro came out last season and was one of my

 favorite big mountain skis and honestly just one of my favorite skis across the board for

 2021, and it carries over for 2022, same construction, just a new beautiful topsheet.

 As always, Icelandic does a great job with their topsheets every year.

 Yeah, the Nia Pro, it's 105 underfoot, it's a fully rockered ski, so it's pretty surfy
