My set-up: I'm currently running them from a Fiio Q5s and a custom 4.4 balanced cable and it sounds fantastic.

They clamp. They clamp hard at first, you're going to either have to wear them a lot or put them on a book etc. The first few times you wear them the clamp may hurt a bit but eventually it results for a great fit for any sized head.

I currently have the HD660s and I absolutely love them. Very vocal headphones with an amazing amount of detail+imaging. They are however very intimate for an open back headphone. Going from the 598 I expected a large soundstage but it was moreso an in your head presentation

Comfort: Very comfortable fit, you'll actually notice that the middle part is gone when you put them on but once you wear other headphones you'll notice that not having it is actually better. I too am a student so I wear them for many hours and I have no comfort issues except for my big ears which touch the earpad if I don't sit them right.

The Drop Headphones are in brackets since i cant send them back from Germany, so while they are the cheapest, i cant try them out, but have to be dead sure that i want them.

**Source/Amp** \- currently using a FIIO E10K, planing on upgrading to an Atom Stack over the course of the next year or so.

**How the gear will be used**  \- These headphones will be my daily drivers at home, i use them roughly 10 hours a day right now, so they have to be durable and easy to repair. I use them to listen to music, but also alot for gaming, so this has to be factored in, if possible. Since i dont use them outside of my house, they can be open, in fact i really prefer open headphones for my prolonged use 

**Preferred tonal balance**  \- Im looking for a jack of all trades, so to say, since i use them for nearly everything and i cant afford multible pairs.

**Preferred music genre(s)** \- Im listening to a lot of metal and rock, but also to hip hop and slower, more jazz-like music.

**Past** **gear experience**  \- For the last four years, i've been using the DT 990 250 Ohm. I have no real problem with their hights, but i wouldnt mind a little bit less. I also own the Sennheiser Momentum 1, which sound a bit too muffled for me

**What** **aspect of your current listening experience would you like to improve? -** I would like to improve on the amount of detail you can hear for one, and for the other i would love to get a bit more "present" voices, i personally feel that the DT 990 struggles a bit with that. Also the bass is quite present in this headphone, but i dont really "feel it", if that makes any sense, it sounds very dry and doesnt manage to get me moving my head along the beat.

[PA] Headphones in Germany for around 350$

 I could maybe understand if this happened when it reached 10% battery life, that may be forgivable, but at 20-40% charge it should not disconnect from bluetooth.  Original Review: Jokes aside when I use this amp I just feel good. The world is brighter, my mood shifts ever so gently into nirvana, and as I walk on water its evaporates into vapor clouds that lift me through transcendence of time and space.  I am currently using the Q5s to power my Sennheisers and Moondrop Starfields

 I tried using the lightning to usb connection, because this should provide the best sound quality when using it with a phone, but it didn't work and I just figured it was not possible with the 5 SE. A few days latter I tried it again, but with the unit shut off I connected everything first and then switched the power on. It worked instantly. So I am assuming this would be the same with any iPhone

 I have used it in BT with my phone in one pocket and the Q5s in the other and sometimes the sound does cut in and out.  The iPhone 5 SE is not a listed supported device. I find my m11 as a "clean source." no phone, no cell data, just music. Yes it does wifi and can stream music but I don't use it. It simply holds my music library and plays it

I have a general question regarding DACs - so how much of a difference in sound quality does a Desktop DAC like the Schiit Modi3+ make when compared to a Portable DAC like the Dragonfly black or a Earmen eagle or ibasso dongle DAC etc.. If yes how much are we talking about to justify spending on a Desktop DAC? If no then wouldn't it be better to get a portable DAC because it can be used anywhere?

<p>Edit 1: Adding details on my current equipment - I currently use a Fiio Q3 along with a Magni Hersey amp paired with the Sundara. It sounds fine but since the Q3 doesn’t have a direct line out to bypass the internal amp there is dual amplification so to speak. I don’t notice any audible distortion as such but I was wondering if getting a desktop dac with direct line out make the experience any better to warrant the spending?</p>

Desktop DAC vs Portable DAC

* **Requirements for Isolation** \- I don't really need a ton because my room is super quiet but I have a boom mic that comes down by my headspace.  I can always change the sensitivity of the mic to account for this but having less sound thrown outwards is just a bonus.

* **What would you like to improve on from your set-up** \- Would like to keep most of that mid magic from the 660S while improving on bass (a lot) and improving on treble (a tiny bit)

I got the v moda boom pro for my shp 9500, but with the boom pro plugged in, the left side is quieter than the right on my headphones. It’s less noticeable if I turn the volume on the boom pro lower, and there’s a spot when I scroll the volume wheel where I can’t hear out of the left side at all. Is my boom pro messed up? Is this a common problem? Is it worth it to get a mod mic or something else instead?

* **Requirements for Isolation**  \- This is most important factor for me. In metro,bus,train I want to  cancel outside noise so i can hear what i listen and in office  microphone shouldn't transfer office sounds to person i'm talking.
* **Will you be using these Headphones in Public?** \- always
* **Preferred Type of Headphone**  \- I prefer earbuds/earphones as i will wear them in public,  being  comfortable is important as i will wear them for a long time.

Do you guys think that a pair of used (mint condition from what I can tell with a case) Grado sr80's are worth $60? I had a pair that I gave away for free about a year ago because I wasn't using them much and preferring my hd558's but recently I've been preferring my porta pros to the 558's and kind of want to get some Grado's back.

Or if anyone has a suggestion for a sound signature that's kinda like a mix between Grado's and Sennheiser for around $100 or so that'd be appreciated too - up for trying something new. The only good headphones I've really had are my Sennheisers, the grados, the porta pros, and I consider the OG sony 1000x's to be pretty good too but I don't use them much unless I want noise cancelling. Cheers.

A little background here:  Tried to get Sony to provide me a missing clip in the headphone strap of their Z1R headphones and they basically said "Amazon damaged these, send back to Amazon".  I find this bullshit considering the headphones are delivered in a vault box and are in no way able to be damaged from the outside.  I fabricated a clip to work on these but after thinking about it, Sony doesnt deserve my money and I don't want a product that someone isn't going to take pride in.  Please keep your experience with manufacturer customer service in mind when recommending some headphones.  Thanks everyone.

I find this bullshit considering the headphones are delivered in a vault box and are in no way able to be damaged from the outside.  I fabricated a clip to work on these but after thinking about it, Sony doesnt deserve my money and I don&#39;t want a product that someone isn&#39;t going to take pride in. hi. i need someone who can help me with some wasapi issues. So:

if i play tidal out via exclusive mode to my DAC ( Stoner Acoustics UD 130), I dont hear any sort of distortion or crackle.

If i play music via f2k using wasapi event/push out to my DAC, in some portions of the song I CAN hear distortion. 1:50 into I Guess I Just Feel Like by JM. The solo somehow gets a mild buzz of distortion in the left side. Have swapped channels to determine that it is not the left audio driver.

I usually run Tidal through F2k via VB cable being recorded via Foobar and outputting to my DAC. I do this to run a DSP on my music just to balance the stereo to attenuate for hearing loss. I have tried disabling the DSP, but the issue persists. Even with this setup, I can hear distortion at the same points of the song that I usually can hear it even if I just run my local FLAC files through f2k ONLY.

ASIO4ALL doesnt work AT ALL. Once I have it set up, I can play music but with constant choppy pops and crackles in the music. I have tried adjusting the buffer settings but to no avail.

I have tried adjusting the buffer settings when playing music out via WASAPI on F2k, also to no avail.

Now that I have broken down the chain, I don't get it. WASAPI out from Tidal to my DAC sounds fine. WASAPI out from Foobar to my DAC is NOT fine and has audible distortion. I'd like to go for a walk with my wife and each of us has a wireless earbud. However, most wireless earbuds disconnect 1 or both buds if the other goes out of range - like more than 1-2 feet (tried Jabra 65t). 

Do airpods do this? I have an Android device, so ideally something besides airpods.

Since I lost my hair, I have found my headphones (HD 555s, 599s, Bose QC) very uncomfortable due to pressure on the top of my head.

I've tried IEMs but also find them uncomfortable, and I miss having a big can over my ear.

Are there any decent cans that don't rest on your head? Or a pair that can help mitigate this pain? Thank you!
