 At 95mm underfoot, the Dictator 2.0X is a versatile off-piste performer that's more than capable in deep snow but you might want something a little wider if you're heading in the direction of Japanese powder. All in all, a really solid, if not particularly playful ski that will satisfy powerful, confident female skiers. Whilst it definitely requires a solid drive, if you like to be in the front then you'll be pleased with how the Dictator 2

0X is a classic freeride, flat tail ski that demands to be skied with power, commitment and grandes cojones (or the female equivalent).  Welcome to our 2023 ski test. We've got a Volkl Revolt 86 here for you today. Super fun twin tip, 86mm underfoot, tip and tail rocker, camber underfoot. We got a partial sidewall and then cap throughout

 But yeah, 120 in the tip, 86 underfoot, 110 in the tail, so it's not a true symmetrical twin, but pretty close. We do see a multi-layer wood core in here as well as that tip and tail rocker, but just a really great overall choice for younger, more athletic and bouncy skiers who are looking to do everything. It's got some heft to it as well, I'll put it on the scale in a sec, but we do see that tip rocker, not a ton. You do want a little bit more camber and pop in your park skiing

 It kind of melds that mix of an all-mountain twin tip versus a park-specific one.

 And kind of the surprising thing about this is the amount of energy and pop you get out

 of it from that all-mountain standpoint.

 Certainly in the park, when you're getting a twin tip with some good flex, it's going

 to be good no matter what, but having the ability to take this thing into the bumps

 or the trees or the groomers, you know, anywhere from that tweener skier all the way up to

 a lighter adult, this is the 180, tops out here.

 So someone like myself, I'm kind of precluded from being able to ski this just from a sizing

 standpoint, but even on the 180, I was pretty surprised at how much energy you get out of

 But yeah, 120 in the tip, 86 underfoot, 110 in the tail, so it's not a true symmetrical

 On the scale here in the 180, 1920 grams, so we're almost at a 2000 gram ski for what

 you might think is just a simple lightweight twin tip, but it happens to be just that much

 So having that extra weight in there helps not only with stability and power, but also

 So anyone who's skiing park or pipe for any amount of time knows that those forces

 and that energy is a little bit different than just straight trail skiing.

 So having that durability there goes a long way in keeping park skiers and all-mountain

 skiers who are pretty hard on their gear happier for sure.

 But yeah, great edge grip, good all-mountain ski overall, super easy in the bumps and the

 trees and having that park capability as well just really puts this Revolt 86 on a different

 level than a lot of other of those mid-80s underfoot all-mountain skis.
