 At 95mm underfoot, the Dictator 2.0X is a versatile off-piste performer that's more than capable in deep snow but you might want something a little wider if you're heading in the direction of Japanese powder. All in all, a really solid, if not particularly playful ski that will satisfy powerful, confident female skiers. Whilst it definitely requires a solid drive, if you like to be in the front then you'll be pleased with how the Dictator 2

0X is a classic freeride, flat tail ski that demands to be skied with power, commitment and grandes cojones (or the female equivalent). With two layers of Titanal surrounding a lightweight poplar/paulownia core, the Dictator 2.0X has been built with strength and stability in mind and delivers excellent edge hold if you fully commit to the carve.

 So again, just kind of adding to the range of capabilities that this ski has. It's just a really strong ski with a high performance ceiling, really great strong on trail performance, like I said, but with the ability to kind of go off trail, given the rocker and the tips and just the overall construction. So I would definitely recommend these skis to a stronger skier, anywhere from intermediate to advanced, who wants that strong performance and the feel of the added metal, because that really does make it a touch more demanding, but still overall an approachable ski and a really fun maneuverable one too.  Hey skiers, Emily from SkiEssentials.com. Welcome to our 2023 ski test. Today I will be talking

 about the Salomon Stance Women's 88. So this is a women's specific frontside all-mountain

 ski. It has similar technology to the men's version, yet Salomon decided to make some

 changes to the construction a little bit just to be a little bit more approachable and lightweight

 for women. So we have a directional all-mountain shape like I was saying and then really strong

 on trail performance. So speaking to that on trail performance, the men's version also

 has similar technology like I said. So it has metal laminates in it and it also has

 Salomon's CFX blend. So that was carried over to the women's version, yet the difference

 from the men's version is that the construction is a poplar and caruba woodcore, whereas the

 men's version is just a full poplar woodcore. And so that's where the weight difference

 comes into play. Like I said, it has two sheets of metal that are positioned kind of sandwiching

 the woodcore. So that just takes the stability and precision a step further, which is why

 I feel it has really strong on trail performance. It is 88 underfoot, so it still is a pretty

 versatile all-mountain ski with capabilities off trail, but really where it shines is on

 kind of firmer snow, groomers, and just resort skiing. So it also has, like I said, it has

 the metal laminate sandwiching the woodcore, and that goes through the length of the ski,

 but then Salomon decided to take cutouts in the tips and tails, and instead of having

 metal in the tips and tails, which would have made it a little bit more demanding and would

 have taken more effort to control and maneuver in the tips and the tails, they placed the

 CFX blend in the tips and tails. So they took little cutouts in the metal and placed the

 carbon and flax material in there, and that material has really strong vibration dampening

 and absorption qualities. So really a strong foundation for all-mountain performance. Speaking

 to the shape and profile, like I already mentioned, it has a pretty directional shape, but unlike

 other frontside skis, say the Blizzard Black Pearl 88, this stance has quite a bit more

 rocker in the tips. So, you know, starts at about here, so whereas the Blizzard Black

 Pearl has not as much rocker, so that's where this kind of versatility and all-mountain

 performance comes in, because you really have that extra float and maneuverability and playfulness

 in the tips for if you do get into softer snow. We have camber underfoot. We also have

 a full sandwich sidewall, so that provides just really strong edge grip and precision

 and control, especially given the fact that there's metal in the ski as well. So taking

 that one step further. And then, like I said, just a pretty directional flat tail with a

 little bit of rise in the tail. So that just is great for early, easier turn release and

 overall maneuverability. So this is the 168 in length, and we have, I believe, a little
