If you're set on getting the most cutting-edge performance for your money, the best cheap gaming mouse for enthusiasts is the EVGA X12. While its regular price makes it more of a mid-range option, it's very frequently on sale and is a great deal whenever it falls under the $30 mark. Its overall shape is symmetrical, with a pair of side buttons on the left and right sides, meaning it's a great choice whether you're right or left-handed. Overall, its build quality is good, but there's some flexibility in the sides of the plastic body. There's also a small amount of wobble in the left- and right-click buttons, and there's a rattling sound from the mouse wheel if you shake the mouse. However, these issues don't affect performance while gaming.

In terms of raw performance, it has extremely low click latency and a very consistent and accurate sensor. This mouse is also one of the few options currently available that offers polling rates higher than the standard 1000Hz, which provide smoother-feeling cursor movements and slightly better click latency.  And for me there wasn't really a natural grip style I'd tend to use with this mouse. I thought I'd be able to continue using my previous grip style but I kind of had to develop a new one and that also while it improves my peak precision I would say. My peak precision and that is actually backed up by statistics. My peak precision has kind of increased with this mouse but the acceleration I would be able to pull off is slower I'd say than with the Harpoon Pro RGB

 In this video I want to review the EVGA X12, which is a new gaming mouse by EVGA, a brand

 that has formerly been known for building crazy expensive motherboards and high quality

 But in recent years they've stepped more and more into the peripherals market and this

 The X12 got introduced at CES in 2022 as one of six mice that support NVIDIA's Reflex

 A word that I would use to describe the X12 is medium.

 And I don't mean that in any negative way, it's just that this mouse is about medium

 So it should technically fit a lot of different use cases and appeal to a lot of different

 I have used a lot of heavy mice in the past without questioning, but at some point I got

 suggested trying out a lighter mouse and so I switched from the Corsair M65 to the Corsair

 Harpoon Pro RGB and I actually kind of preferred it, even though it was a lot cheaper and a

 But at 86 grams it was significantly lighter than the M65 at 135 grams.

 But I always had two issues with that mouse.

 For one, the cable was very stiff, so whenever it would get caught on my desk somewhere I

 would feel the resistance in the movement of the mouse, which wasn't very nice.

 And also, it was always a little bit too small for my hand and so after playing for some

 And so I started looking out for a new mouse and I finally settled on the X12.

 With its very flexible 2 meter paracord cable, feeling any kind of resistance on the cable

 And at roughly 12 cm of length it should also technically fit a lot of different hand sizes.

 Although with its symmetrical design and medium size it is not really designed to be used

 with any particular grip style, so it will be down to your personal taste which grip

 style you prefer to use with this mouse.

 When using the X12 I quickly discovered that its cable brings another very specific problem

 with it, as it would frequently get stuck on the rough edges of my mousepad.

 If they had used the same mesh material on the cable they had used on my Z15 keyboard

 But for some reason they decided to use another material that would frequently get stuck.

 So yeah, if you're looking into buying this mouse you should definitely make sure that

 your mousepad doesn't have any rough edges the cable can get stuck on.

 And I feel like this is a little bit of an oversight.

 The last important component that makes up a product's appeal is obviously the price.

 And at roughly 60 euros you couldn't really call the X12 cheap but you couldn't really

 I think medium is a word that describes the price rather well.

 And I think that wraps all the important things up.

 The thing that I like most about the X12 is probably the weight.

 75 grams really feels like the perfect weight to me.

 It doesn't feel like you are holding nothing in your hand but it's also not like it's slowing

 down your reactions or restricting your movement.

 Something I'm not so sure about is the size and the overall shape.

 Mostly because the mouse is rather tall and so it feels like you are holding substantially

 more in your hand than with the Harpoon Pro RGB.
