The ROG RTX 3080 Ti Strix LC, and LC stands for liquid cooling if you have trouble keeping up. And from TechPower's findings, this graphics card seems to benefit way more from having that insanely high power limit, simply because it has the cooling to really make use of it all

EVGA RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 ULTRA has a DIRTY SECRET?!

 Yes, I did get new blasters recently, thanks for noticing.

 So recently I made a video that clearly quite a few of you didn't like,

 because in that video I talked about what I thought was a pretty decent but overall

 average RTX 3080 Ti, but clearly quite a few took issue with that video.

 So what exactly happened? Was I wrong for once in my life?

 Was my judgement on this graphics card just incorrect?

 Well, I definitely missed one very big thing that fans of this card have definitely been pointing

 out. However, I mean that does not change the fact that there is some major issues

 about this card, so let's get into it shall we?

 So if you haven't watched that video, and you should, it's a good video.

 In that video I described the FDW3 Ultra as a fairly decent 3080 Ti that didn't redo anything

 special. It only had a mere four display outputs out back, it had fairly decent cooling and it

 didn't really have anything super special going for it. But quite a few people took objection

 to that, and many people quickly rushed to tell me about something that this card can do that

 apparently no other 3080 Ti can, and that is that you can set its panel limits all the way up to

 450 watts, and that should make room for some fairly decent boost clocks and overclocking

 potential. And what can surprise me is how many people treat that as some ultimate argument

 against my verdict for this card in that video, even though there is a very big caveat to this

 fact about this graphics card. Now yes, that kind of panel limit is very impressive on this card,

 especially for an air-cooled one, but that's the thing. There is a reason that people haven't

 attempted to raise the panel limits that high on the air-cooled card, and that's because the

 benefits won't be as big as you might imagine. Especially since the panel limits don't automatically

 translate to more performance, you also of course need to have the higher clocks and of course

 better cooling to even drive that kind of stuff. And even TechPower themselves stated in their

 review of this card that it performs way hotter than the other RTX 3080 Ti's they tried out.

 And the best part is, EVGA aren't even the only company who attempted to raise the panel limits

 So I really don't understand this argument people made, that this is some kind of saving

 grace for this card. Granted, the card is still really good without it. It is nice to have,

 there's other cards that also have this kind of high power limit, and they do the higher power

 as far as I can tell, because there's literally other cards in EVGA's lineup that also have this

 the 3080 Ti, then there's clearly a much better alternative for the air-cooled version with the

 hybrid or water-blocked ones. And one thing that EVGA has done great is that they have you covered

 no matter what kind of water-cooling person you are. If you just want a nice aero solution,

 they have the hybrid version. And if you want a whole custom water-cooling loop, then you also

 have the water-blocked version. So there's pretty much a choice for everyone. Or hey, if you don't

 want to pay extra for the water-blocked version straight from EVGA, you could always just grab

 the standard EVGA one and then just buy an aftermarket water-block from someone like EK.

 That's an option. So this rabbit hole I doubt into regarding the whole matter of the power limit on

 the FTW3 Ultra kind of just reinforced to me that, I mean, it is a cool feature, but this is clearly

 the worst card you can get if you really want to have it and you want to use it to its fullest

 potential. And even in the EVGA's own lineup, there's cards that do it much better. Now granted,

 if you don't care about overclocking or raising power limits, you can just use the card and not

 care about a feature at all. That is absolutely fine. It's still a great standalone card without

 that. But like I said in my original video, there's still quite a few good options for you to

 consider. And I also have to put some of the blame for all of this on EVGA's own marketing,

 because they really haven't gone out of the way to make sure people know that their card has such

 an insanely high power limit, because I haven't seen them advertise this in any marketing material

 they've done for this card, even though it seems like a feature you'd want everyone to know about,

 because it is pretty cool. There, I win the argument, now get out. I'm just joking, of course,

 fans of this card are naturally also very welcome on this channel. We welcome everyone,

EVGA RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 Review W/1440P & 4K Overclocked Benchmarks On Ryzen 9 5950X CPU On Windows 11

 Yo, what's going on guys? It is Saturday, August 7th, and I bring to you an EVGA RTX 3080 Ti 4.1.3.

 I just picked this up today at Micro Center at Westmont, Illinois.

 They had two in stock at around 1.30 this afternoon.

 I drove over there, asked if they still had it in stock, they did, and I picked it up, so here it is.

 So if you're familiar with the 3080s or 3090s, even 3070s, they all use the same cooler, copper heat pipe,

 three PCI Express power connectors, it does have a dual BIOS.

 I'm going to leave it on the factory normal BIOS, and that was where it was by default.

 I know the overclock BIOS, it doesn't raise the power limit or anything, but it just ramps up the fans,

 so I want to keep the fans quiet, so I'm going to leave it on the normal BIOS.

 So here's the back plate, here's the rear of the GPU, for those of you who want to see the caps on it.

 Nice venting on the all-luminum heatsink, and it did come with the PCI Express power connector,

 all right, power connector, PCI Express connector protector, which I can appreciate.

 And here's the I.O. bracket, and so yeah, I'm going to get this installed in my Ryzen 9 5950X CPU computer.

 Right now I've got the Asus Strix RTX 3080, so I'm going to get that removed,

 and I'm going to replace it with the EVGA RTX 3080 Ti 4213.

 So let me get this removed and install the 3080 Ti, and then we'll get it installed,

 power it on, set up the RGB lights, and then we'll see how it looks installed,

 and then we'll get to benchmarks, overclocking, and a gaming test, so stay tuned.

 Okay, so I got the EVGA RTX 3080 Ti 4213 installed, I got the blue LED RGB lights matching the rest of my rig,

 and there's some lighting also on the rear by what says EVGA, and then there's some in the front here,

 you can partially see behind those cables.

 So I got this installed in my Ryzen 9 5950X computer with an MSI X570 ACE motherboard,

 and these are my overclock settings for the Ryzen 9 5950X, so I got it at 4.7 GHz roughly,

 1.368 voltage, and 32 gigabytes of G-Skill Royal Z PC 3200 memory for those timings,

 and then the EVGA RTX 3080, I got the power limit raised to 112%, which is as high as it goes,

 I raised the core clock additional 120 MHz, and the memory added an additional 800 MHz fan profile,

 is that auto, and then the fan overclock bios is on the normal settings, so I'm not using the overclock bios.

 So first I'm going to test 3DMark Time Spy, and then we'll see the scores, and then I'm going to test other games,

 I mentioned the resizable bar is enabled, so I got the latest official bios on this RTX 3080 Ti by Ubisoft.

 So I'm going to run Time Spy, and then Port Rail, so stay tuned.

 I ran Time Spy, I got a score of 19,410, CPU score 14,389, grabbed a score of 20,634,

 and that was with the EVGA RTX 3080 Ti overclocked, additional 120 MHz on the core, and 800 MHz on the memory,

 and those are the speeds it's sitting at. My Ryzen 9 5950X was at roughly 4.7 GHz.

 Okay, so next I'm going to run Port Rail, and we'll see the scores, so stay tuned.

 Everybody knows the temperatures with the overclock, so the core is sitting at 78 C,

 those are the clock speeds, and the fan speed is at 74%, and the Ryzen 9 is sitting at about 47%,

 which really isn't being used in that Port Rail, so I just thought I'd show the temperature,

 and it seems to be, it tops out about 80 C, this is kind of a longer benchmark,

 and it does heat up to 80 C, one overclock, additional 120 MHz on the core, so just thought I'd talk about that.

 But overall it's very quiet and silent. You could barely hear it, basically.

 Score 13,943, and again this is the GPU core clock and memory overclock, overclocked to, and the Ryzen 9 5950X at 4.7 GHz.

 So a pretty decent score for Port Royal and Tinespy.

 Okay, so next we're going to do gaming tests, and then we'll basically show the MSI Afterburner overlay for frames per second,

 and I will capture some games, and then we'll take things over there, so see you for the next video.

 Let's compare the scores to my RTX 3080 Asus Strix.

 So my EVGA RTX 3080 Ti got 13,943 in Port Royal, and the Asus Rogue Strix 3080 got 12,678.

 Okay, so then for Tinespy, the Asus Rogue 3080 got 18,451, and then the EVGA RTX 3080 Ti 4130 got 19,330.

 So I want to compare the scores between the 3080 and 3080 Ti, so there's a nice little small boost between the two, so just thought I'd talk about that.

 Okay, so next I'm going to do the gaming test, and then again it will be at these overclocked settings,

Okay, let's get into the results, starting with the 1080p watchdogs legion data. We see the rtx 3060 was good for just 61 fps on average, making it slightly slower than the previous generation radeon rx 5700 xt, which is very disappointing to see in an nvidia sponsored title, we're basically looking at rtx 2070 like performance here so 500 us gpu Performance from three years ago, the margins are fairly similar at 1440p, at least relative to other geforce gpus, such as the rtx 2070. The 3060 does manage to match the 5700 xt here

 [, Music. ]! Welcome back to harvard unboxed today i am finally checking out nvidia's new geforce rtx 3060.. It was officially released about two weeks ago now, but i was taking a break with my family and a delay on nvidia's m with the driver due to the unfortunate circumstances in texas meant that i wasn't able to complete my review before i left on the plus Side, though, this has allowed us to take a more accurate look at pricing and availability, but of course we will have all the usual array of benchmarks to go over and i'll jump into that in a moment before that, though, let's quickly talk about the geforce rtx 3060, the new 330 us offering from nvidia but of course, you're unlikely to find it at that price anytime soon, due to the ongoing global pandemic trade war and cryptocurrency mining boom, so yeah we're kind of dealing with some stuff right now

 It does well enough just a 13 deficit here, though we are only at 1080p. Above at the 30 60 ti, and yet does pack a bit more vram, but at this price point i think eight gigabytes is still enough, at least for now, but vram aside, the rtx 3060 really has very little going for it again, assuming the msrp is met For rtx 2060 owners, it's a very small upgrade and it's almost a side grade for 2060 super owners, while it's a downgrade for anyone with a 5700 xt if you're coming as far back as pascal and owner gtx, 1060 or even a 1070, the rtx 3060 is A decent upgrade in terms of performance but you'd be far better off spending a little bit more money on the ti version or waiting to see what amd does at this price point, but don't get me wrong. The rtx 3060 certainly isn't a bad product. It'S technically very good: it's just the price, that's a letdown here, ideally, in my opinion, it needs to be at least 50 us less, but that also brings us to the current market situation

My desktop kicked the bucket (the entire desktop, nothing can be salvaged... yeah) and building another is very difficult and expensive right now due to scalpers selling PC parts like graphics cards at insane prices. I'm very busy and need a new work machine ASAP; I don't have time to hunt for parts, ship them and so on.

2k is the most I'm willing to spend, but I would rather spend around 1500 if possible.

It needs to be good for heavy duty 3D modeling and rendering. That will be its primary use. I don't care if it's a 20-pound monster, lol... I just need it to work.
