Power

Vacuum sucks, but doesn't blow

You may need to remove (cut out) the protective cover on the blower port to gain volume of air.

Great suction, but.....

The swivel-head, though, does not allow me any control: specifically, I used to be able to lift the old head off the floor if I needed to suck up a small stone; or I could go from vacuuming the concrete floors, to the top of my dog beds, to my sofa without changing heads. The swivel head is NOT good on the dog beds, the sofa, or for picking up little things other than dust and hair. It takes me SO LONG to vacuum the house now. Additionally, it takes some concerted effort to switch to the electric carpet attachment

Cleaning Performance

Not too hard to push around, there was a little resistance but way better than my old one. It seemed to do an incredibly well job at cleaning the carpet, I could tell a second pass through would have been pointless.

A noob tries to buy a nice vacuum for his gf and get SUCKED in: a cry for help

The C1s are excellent, but I do not necessarily recommend them for somebody who has mostly carpet. To get anything that would be excellent on carpet from Miele, you would need to pay more than your maximum price. I typically recommend the C1 Turbo for somebody who has mostly hard floors and a few rugs or carpeted spaces.

NOT AS ADVERTISED

Not as advertised! There is NO hepa filter with this model 3670g!!! Product details states it does and Q/A response from Eureka also… IT DOES NOT!!! Very misleading. Target should correct this ASAP

Good suction, but too many design flaws. Spend your $$$ elsewhere!

It does a good job picking up dust and dirt from both. But Cons: - The air filter cover pops off. There's a single sliding latch that is supposed to keep the cover on, but it pops off frequently when the vacuum is stood on end. The design would have been better off if Kenmore had put on two opposing latches to release the cover

The best value in hard surface vacs - incredible suction, super light and durable.

To that point - things you might want: 1) HEPA filter. The same HEPA filter that fits on the "Pet" version of this vac fits this one. They're the same basic unit. It snaps over the exhaust

Worst purchase I’ve ever made

It tips over & the hose gets tangled & the hepa-filter falls off all of the time. This vacuum has actually come between my husband & I..

Has a serious design flaw (bought 9/15/18) ***UPDATED 1/31/19***

So I took the wiring harness apart, cut the ribbon, notched it and abraded the end to expose the metal connections. I reinserted it into the clip and secured it with copious amounts of tape, enough to fortify the inevitable bend that occurs. Put it back together and what do I get? VOILA! A vacuum again! Should this have happened? No. In the amount of time I have owned this unit, they should have at least tested a unit twice as long (I do for my products) but here’s a TIP to prevent this problem for anybody considering this unit

I was able to follow the instructions for putting it together. Overall it seems intuitive to use and has excellent suction, especially on rugs and carpet. The switch for hardwood, carpet and power on the handle work as intended but seem flimsy. It’s easy to hit the carpet setting on hardwood

The best canister vacuum cleaner that we've tested at a budget-friendly price is the Eureka Mighty Mite. This bagged canister vacuum is small enough to be stored in most cupboards or closets and has a lightweight construction that allows you to pick it up and carry it from room to room with minimal effort. It's also pretty easy to maneuver in cluttered areas.

However, it seems that all of the vacuums that fit into that category are from Sebo and Miele, and are $700 or above, just a bit out of my price range. My upmost limit is $600. I've found the Kenmore Elite Pet Friendly UltraPlush 81714 to be recommended by Consumer reports, though I can't confirm that the nozzle is electric. Is this a good choice (if it is) and are there any other recommendations or experiences with great vacuums between 450 - 600 that others on the board have? I would greatly appreciate it

Design

Love it so far!

The hose is made of thinner plastic than I'm used to so you have to keep that in mind as you use the vacuum as it can and will kink. There's a replacement hose that you can eventually get, though, and its reviews indicated it has better quality than the original. I like the idea of being able to readily find replacement parts and the simplicity of the design of this vacuum. Changing the bag is super easy, I like that it doesn't have a cord rewind cuz those never really work very well (or at least for very long), and it's nice and small for storage

Disappointing Vacuum

I have some floor attachments, brushes, and long-reach wands that fit other vacuums, but they won't work with this Kenmore because of it's design. I was able to fashion an adapter that gets around this problem, but there's some risk the adapter may damage the hose. Kenmore should make their vacuums to use standard attachments, so customers don't lose their investment in specialized attachments. Third, the only attachment with a brush for effectively vacuuming bare floors is only 9 inches wide instead of the standard 14 inch width of most floor attachments

Noise Level

Mostly Good Surprises

When used with those higher quality tools, I was impressed by its performance on tasks expected of a canister vac: bare floor cleaning, dusting, cleaning upholstery. It was even OK for light duty carpet cleaning; just don’t expect miracles on carpets from a suction-only canister. It is not a quiet machine. However, it is not loud to the degree that some of the reviews led me to believe
