 I don't know what the pricing is. Gon na be for replacement screens, if you need those how often you're gon na need those, but it should be. You know hundreds of hours of printing before you're gon na need a screen replacement fingers crossed and again I don't have the exact pricing of what this will be.  Do not look directly at that panel. I'M not a good example here should be wearing my my safety glasses there, but one of the switches, nuts, which is one of the wires here on the front right side of the unit, just looks like it got knocked loose. So I was able to push that back in place and yeah everything's now connected and it's lighting up properly. So I'm going to rerun my test that I was just running here a second ago and we'll give it a shot

Elegoo Saturn - 4k Mono Screen Resin 3D Printer! Initial Impressions

The EPAX seems like the best choice, but it’s over my price range once I factor in other stuff like the curing station. The 4K printers seem to be underproduced and only one of the companies even has parts for sale. It might just be cheaper and better using a big 3d printer company to print out my stuff, but I'm not sure on their prices.

* Your budget, set at a numeric amount. Saying "cheap," or "money is not a problem" is not an answer people can do much with. 3D printers can cost $100, they can cost $10,000,000, and anywhere in between. A rough idea of what you're looking for is essential to figuring out anything else.
* Your country of residence.
* If you are willing to build the printer from a kit, and what your level of experience is with electronic maintenance and construction if so.
* What you wish to do with the printer.
* Any extenuating circumstances that would restrict you from using machines that would otherwise fit your needs (limited space for the printer, enclosure requirement, must be purchased through educational intermediary, etc).

While this is by no means an exhaustive list of what can be included in your posts, these questions should help paint enough of a picture to get started. Don't be afraid to ask more questions, and never worry about asking too many. The people posting in this thread are here because they want to give advice, and any questions you have answered may be useful to others later on, when they read through this thread looking for answers of their own. Everyone here was new once, so chances are whoever is replying to you has a good idea of how you feel currently.

Additionally, a quick word on print quality: Most FDM/FFF (that is, filament based) printers are capable of approximately the same tolerances and print appearance, as the biggest limiting factor is in the nature of extruded plastic. **Asking if a machine has "good prints," or saying "I don't expect the best quality for $xxx" isn't actually relevant for the most part** with regards to these machines. Should you need additional detail and higher tolerances, you may want to explore SLA, DLP, and other photoresin options, as those *do* offer an increase in overall quality. If you are interested in resin machines, make sure you are aware of [how to use them safely](https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrinting/wiki/resinprinting#wiki_safety). For these reasons we don't usually recommend a resin printer as someone's first printer.

 The finished crafts were flimsy unless you do a lot of layering so not sure how long they will last. While the patterns were cute, my 9 year old struggled to make the normal outlines-definitely would not be able to do a 3D one without some adult help and maybe the available app. She wasted a lot of materials changing colors - you have to let all the old color flow through to get the new one so not super easy to go back and forth between colors. Not bad overall, just not as fun as they thought it would be based on the projects shown on the box

 My 5 year old struggled, but enjoyed it with guidance. the catch: You must use their special filaments and they are outrageously expensive! Their website shows huge projects or projects (a large bridge and a vehicle small enough to fit in your hand) that require several of their proprietary sticks. We’re talking $.25 a stick that lasts maybe 5 minutes! However if you are concerned about your kid burning themselves and have lots of extra $$$ for the special filament, this pen is a great idea

 I contacted the company who was immediately responsive and sent us a replacement. We sent the pen back to them where they determined what the issue was so they could help us prevent it from happening in the future. The tip they provided was a critical piece of information- which leads to the next comment- I wish there was more in terms of direction and tips in the book that came with the tool. The documentation could be bulked up for troubleshooting help

Great for kids

I got this as a gift for my 8-year-old crafty niece and she really loved it. It came with the pen, a mat, an instruction book with some templates and some filament. I also bought her a large pack of replacement filament, but it didn't work with this pen. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it doesn't work with the non-brand name filament and because each time she used it, it ran out of battery

Best gift ever!  (but the battery life isn't very long)

 It’s clearly satisfying something inside of her, and I love that it’s in the form of art and engineering. You’re not going to get high quality prints but that’s not really the point. Also, this doesn’t have anywhere that will burn the kids. You could print the plastic straight onto your hand and be fine, so I can let the kids play with it without me watching over them and there have been no complaints of heat
