If I move it to a shared hall to clean (I try to do several halls once per week), its battery dies WAY faster than the old models did, so I can't just pass by and move it to different spots between other chores like I did with the old one - if I have to stand guard over the vacuum, what is the point of not just sweeping it myself? If I do one area, this model is usually dead before I get it to a second one. I used to be able to do them all with the same time between moving with an old model.

If you are very savvy, I highly recommend this unit. It has excellent suction, decent edge cleaning, fantastic navigation, and the camera allows it to avoid obvious unexpected obstacles most of the time. There are some situations where couch curtains may confuse it, but they do seem to be frequently pushing out firmware updates to improve performance. I have no reason to believe this will stop any time soon since all their future vacs will have these features

I have mixed feelings about this robot, who we named Hank (you are supposed to name him for the app). I find him to be quieter than a regular vacuum, and the suction in normal mode is very good. Our carpets and hardwood floors get very clean. However, he seems to suffer from some form of dementia

That was with preparation! I wanted this to be easy and it became quite apparent this would not be. If you had no kids, no animals, and we're a clean person, this would be incredible! If you have to pick up and organize before you robo vacuum, then I'm not sure it's really a timesaver. So, I'd rather do it myself and leave the frustration behind.

A rarely-used spare room and my office can easily get by with just an occasional cleaning. Oh, and if you have floor-length mirrors, the robot will think there's another room on the other side, but other than the map looking a little funny, it still finds boundaries and - this kind of surprised me - even correctly identified a couple of rooms by type (a hallway, a bathroom, a living room) Why didn't I give it five stars? Love that my wife and I can each have the app on our phones. at $450 (500 with 3 year service plan) I got a great deal on this Shark bot during the Black Friday sale, which is why I give it 5-star for value. With three indoor cats, the hair and sand demands are great on this little trooper, and so far it is meeting them pretty well. Sand pick-up is great but not perfect, especially at the edges of throw-rug and up against walls, but it is pretty good, and generally good enough for me

5. Self empty - if the dust bin is bit too full - do not empty it - no warnings - need to open it manually and clean it.

- When cleaning the filter on the vac, there is a ledge/overlay that massively gets full of debris (in my case short dog hair). I don't understand the purpose of this overlay but the auto-clean isn't strong enough to clean it out and I need to do it manually.

Much quieter and smarter than the Roomba (doesn't scare you when it empties the bin and doesn't bump into everything in the rooms) but it lacks the suction and cleaning power of the Roomba. Good if used as a frequent light cleaner around the house.

Cons - This is so loud. It is a vacuum though and i don't use it on the quietest mode. The dock is almost the loudness of a full upright vacuum. You will not be able to place this anywhere you'll be relaxing or taking calls
