If you're looking for a robot vacuum that comes with a mopping attachment for dealing with any mud and dirt that your pet might track in, consider the Ecovacs DEEBOT OZMO T8 AIVI. This high-end robot vacuum comes with a mopping module to saturate and clear away dried-on stains that can accumulate on bare floors. The vacuum also does a good job of dealing with pet hair on a variety of surfaces, but it might need to make an extra pass to collect all of it. It features an advanced navigation system, which combines onboard cameras for real-time obstacle avoidance as well as a LIDAR sensor that allows it to precisely map out its coverage area. You can use its companion app to set up virtual boundary lines the vacuum won't cross, direct it to a specific area, or schedule cleaning sessions for individual rooms. It also has a very long battery life, but unfortunately, it takes quite a while to recharge.

You might want to take a look at the Roborock S7 if you're looking for a robot vacuum that also has a mopping feature and charges a lot faster. However, the S7 has a shorter maximum battery life, doesn't feel quite as well-built, and struggles a little bit more with pet hair on carpeted surfaces compared to the DEEBOT.

The best upper mid-range robot vacuum we've tested is the Ecovacs DEEBOT OZMO T8 AIVI. Like the Roborock S7 MaxV, it combines onboard cameras to identify hazards in real-time with LIDAR to precisely map out its coverage area. This high-end model has a dual-spectrum mapping system, with a LIDAR sensor for precise room mapping and a front-mounted camera that lets it see and avoid small obstacles like shoes or pet waste that would otherwise be missed by its LIDAR sensor. Its surface detection system enables it to automatically increase suction on carpets or avoid them when using its mopping functionality. It delivers okay performance on low-pile carpet and does a very good job of handling solid debris and pet hair on high-pile carpet. The vacuum packs an impressive array of automation capabilities too. You can schedule cleaning sessions for specific rooms, set up virtual boundary lines and no-go zones, and even set specific cleaning settings for individual areas.

If that's a major concern, the iRobot Roomba S9 is a great alternative and, within iRobot's product lineup, the best Roomba for carpet we've tested. It also has fewer parts that need cleaning and has a larger dustbin that won't need emptying as often. It lacks the Ecovacs' real-time hazard avoidance capability and isn't quite as effective at handling debris on high-pile carpet.

If you're looking to spend a little less on a robot vacuum, the Ecovacs DEEBOT OZMO T8 AIVI is among the best robot vacuums for hardwood floors we've tested. This robot vacuum has an advanced mapping system similar to the Roborock S7 MaxV, which uses both onboard cameras for real-time obstacle avoidance and a LIDAR sensor to precisely map out its coverage area.  It cleans very well - the floors have never looked like this (I have 3 dogs) ever.  9/19. We are trying the mopping action for the first time. Deebot is getting stuck on the edge of the wool rugs more often - and getting hung up on the corners of rugs, telling me it is stuck

 It does both very well, but not at the same time. There is no way that I have figured out to actually tell it only to mop or only to vacuum - if there were you could create a map for mopping and one for vacuuming, but Deebot vacuums, then mops, then dries in that sequence.  We'll be returning it. We may buy another one but feel like we need to keep looking at options

 But I must say, when vacuuming this thing is absolutely stellar. Clean as a whistle. Cleaner than the house has ever been. No dust in the air, nothing

Can't get up on wool rugs.

 It did leave a decent amount by my desk and it doesn't have amazing edge cleaning, but you know again it's a robot. If i ran this a second time. I think it would take care of most of this with the previous robots that i've had over the years. They all would have done better

 The robot does a good job, sweeping up surface dust, but the brush roll is kind of wimpy and the vacuum doesn't have much suction. To begin with, i would still consider this machine supplemental, as you'll still need a more powerful vacuum to actually deep clean, any carpeting. The robot runs around on the edge cleaning is also kind of spotty. I think this robot has a ton of compelling features and it mimics far more expensive options

 That was with preparation! I wanted this to be easy and it became quite apparent this would not be. If you had no kids, no animals, and we're a clean person, this would be incredible! If you have to pick up and organize before you robo vacuum, then I'm not sure it's really a timesaver.  So, I'd rather do it myself and leave the frustration behind.

Just not smart enough

 For example, in a real world test, which i ran in our house, where we have two cats and had been on vacation for a week and a half, it failed to clear the dustbin because the dustbin was too full of cat hair. I ran it a few days later in which it had much less hair in the bin, and that time it cleared the bin with no problems. I ran it one more time with a similar amount of hair in the bin, and again it cleared it with no issues. I asked echovax about this and they confirmed that with pet hair, especially if the dustbin is too full

 I will offer a quick refresher before i get to the auto empty bin. The echovax t8aivi is a seriously good robot vacuum. It has more power than just about any robot vacuum on the market. It did amazing, with all the tests like the carpet deep, clean test and all the pickup tests, it's incredible with navigation with its lidar sensor

  All that said, I think this is a terrific product, so much so that I have ordered the automatic bin-emptying accessory, looking forward to getting that. The intelligence and logic is impressive; my old bot would always get hopelessly stuck under chairs or tables that had openings only slightly wider than itself. This robot manages to find it's way through four kitchen chairs, all of which are about half an inch wider than it, and if one of them gets moved between cleanings, it adjusts and finds a different route to do as complete a job as possible.

 It's not big, and doesn't seem to have a sensor to realize it's full and prompt the user to empty it.  The mopping function is a nice addition, but to switch from vacuum to mop mode (and back) you need to remove the cleaning plate, which takes a little tugging - and this isn't really clearly documented in the instructions.  All that said, I think this is a terrific product, so much so that I have ordered the automatic bin-emptying accessory, looking forward to getting that.  A rarely-used spare room and my office can easily get by with just an occasional cleaning. Oh, and if you have floor-length mirrors, the robot will think there's another room on the other side, but other than the map looking a little funny, it still finds boundaries and - this kind of surprised me - even correctly identified a couple of rooms by type (a hallway, a bathroom, a living room)  Why didn't I give it five stars?  The price. For the price, it's a good value, but not a trivial purchase.  The software

6. Moping - cleaning is not that great - if there are some stains in the tile floor - it is still there after the moping - so it is good for just soft rubbing of the floor.

Good Machine - for the Job.

Much quieter and smarter than the Roomba (doesn't scare you when it empties the bin and doesn't bump into everything in the rooms) but it lacks the suction and cleaning power of the Roomba. Good if used as a frequent light cleaner around the house. 

The full charge time is pretty long so keep that in mind - especially painful when the unit is trying to initially create a map.

 This head is supplied also with Henry and Hetty machines. This is a plastic based cleaning head in my opinion. The other machines I've tested in the pneumatic family that use this particular carpet and hard floor. They didn't perform better than the old nozzle that you used to be able to get

 He's robust, is reliable. He has a huge dust bag. He has an extra-long reach with a 10 meter cable and a two point four meter hose. He's also one of the last cleaners to be made in the United Kingdom So by buying James or any pneumatic cleaner you are supporting British Industry Okay as the plus point, of course he does perform ok, is not excellent at all tasks, but he's good to average

 Well, I'm at the bottom of my stairs now in order to see how far the pneumatic James reach up a standard flight of stairs before I Either have to carry him or put him at the top of the stairs in order to clean the remaining steps. So let's see how many stairs James will clean with the machine safely at the bottom with James at the bottom of my stairs I Can clean eight steps safely, but I will have to lift up James in order to clean the remaining stairs so he's not ideal for stair cleaning. He won't reach right to the top of a stand flight of stairs which in the UK is 13 steps. Well, while I'm at the bottom of my stairs I thought I'd take a well-deserved sit down and sum up the pneumatic James for you

 He's also a little bit heavy. he doesn't always pull along as easily as some vacuum cleaners I've used, but apart from those small nickels for what you can buy James for which is normally well under 100 pounds if you shop around is a good, robust machine and like all pneumatics, I would recommend them. Oh one other negative I don't like and I've said this before the extension ones now they do tend to stick Anyone who's got pneumatic cleaners, you might agree with me, but once you've got the two extension ones together, they sometimes can be very hard to pull apart what I would like to see and they've never done it so far, but you can buy this as an option if you want. But I would like to see a standard with some pneumatic domestic cleaners: a telescopic extension tube so it can adjust the height without having to try and pull the tubes apart
