  Installing an Aquasana shower water filter instantly (and dramatically) reduced this effect to the baseline.

Homeowners on well water systems or with whole house filtration will frequently add UV sterilization as a final step because anybearlier in the process risks compromising the effectiveness of sterilization (from mineral buildup or turbid water).  Same thing applies here. Maximize exposure to the UV light by keeping this thing as clean as you can

I currently own 4 Dyson machines and have owned 5, and the pure cool + humidify is by far the worst product from Dyson I have ever owned. None of their products are perfect, I have an HP04 whos thermometer is incorrect and I can live with that, but the PH01 has been nothing but faults and poor performance.   


As an air purifier, it removes less dust from the air as my cheap holmes AER 1 I had in my bedroom prior to replacing it with this all in one. This thing also has difficulty getting a 10' x 15' at 60% humidity when the doors are closed!   


After I ran the first descaling cycle, that was when things got horrific. After running the cleaning cycle, the water tank, within a day, would be filled with mold or bacteria. Just lots of pink sludge. After a week or so of this behavior I started getting machine fault errors. Underneath the orange internal filter is a drain that takes excess water from the filter and puts it back into the water tank. The fault code was stating that this wasn't working.   


I open it up and what do I find? The drain is covered in pink bacterial slime. Disgusting. How the hell does this happen if the water is sanitized before entering the filter? I then had to take the wicking filter apart because it too was full of bacteria and I had to clean it with bleach.   


It has been a month since that debacle, and now I am constantly getting fill the tank faults! I will fill the tank of water, and 10 minutes later be told to fill it again... and yes its full. I know there is a float valve inside of the pump because when you shake it you hear it, and that is functioning, too. This started yesterday, it is cold where I live and the air is DRY! I need my humidifier working!   


I am taking my unit to the dyson service center today, which if you live near one you should go there before you try calling customer support because they are very easy to work with.   


I know a lot of complaints have happened about strange noises coming from the oscillation mechanism, but I haven't heard of other disappointments with this machine. Am I alone in this mess?

[URL REMOVED] share the opinion. At least a dozen Dyson products in this house, and without question, this is not merely the worst Dyson product I've ever owned -it's also the priciest. This is not the brilliant Dyson Engineering I've come to know and love. Truly frustrating

The first one I bought did not even last 2 months. I always set the fan speed below 5 then one day the air is really bad so I set it to 10. I swear that's all I did. Immediately with some strange noise and smell, it broke itself. 

Dyson agreed to replace it. I send back the broken one immediately but the new one took more than a month to arrive. To be fair that's might be UPS’s fault. But the new one is also not working! it can not detect the water level. Dyson is not really helpful on this. I’m trying to repair it myself but if I can’t, I have to at least wait for months FFS. And there is not a good alternative on the market, is it?

Annoying cords, smelly filters, and impossible to change belts made we dread this chore!  They were bulky and loud too!  I LOVE how the head of the tool pivots so I don't have to do advanced yoga moves on the stairs in order to switch between the horizontal and vertical surfaces!  Thank you, Dyson!  While your products are expensive and the sticker shock has made me avoid your products in the past, I now understand that you really do get what you pay for!  I'm a convert!!!

 I primarily used it as a handheld vac. The Humdinger does not have the same power, the crevice nozzle has an inferior design and it is difficult to empty. I have to use tweezers or a knife to remove debris. Quite disappointed

It's hard to imagine who would throw down $300 on a handheld vacuum when spending a dash more can buy you a far more versatile Dyson. We trust that the Humdinger is probably the strongest handheld on the market, but unless you're looking to misplace a few Benjamins, you should really just buy a stick vacuum.Price: $300SHOP NOW

 This head is supplied also with Henry and Hetty machines. This is a plastic based cleaning head in my opinion. The other machines I've tested in the pneumatic family that use this particular carpet and hard floor. They didn't perform better than the old nozzle that you used to be able to get

 He's robust, is reliable. He has a huge dust bag. He has an extra-long reach with a 10 meter cable and a two point four meter hose. He's also one of the last cleaners to be made in the United Kingdom So by buying James or any pneumatic cleaner you are supporting British Industry Okay as the plus point, of course he does perform ok, is not excellent at all tasks, but he's good to average

 Well, I'm at the bottom of my stairs now in order to see how far the pneumatic James reach up a standard flight of stairs before I Either have to carry him or put him at the top of the stairs in order to clean the remaining steps. So let's see how many stairs James will clean with the machine safely at the bottom with James at the bottom of my stairs I Can clean eight steps safely, but I will have to lift up James in order to clean the remaining stairs so he's not ideal for stair cleaning. He won't reach right to the top of a stand flight of stairs which in the UK is 13 steps. Well, while I'm at the bottom of my stairs I thought I'd take a well-deserved sit down and sum up the pneumatic James for you

 He's also a little bit heavy. he doesn't always pull along as easily as some vacuum cleaners I've used, but apart from those small nickels for what you can buy James for which is normally well under 100 pounds if you shop around is a good, robust machine and like all pneumatics, I would recommend them.  What you know is here we have breakfast cereal, we've got cat litter, we have flour, and then we have my hair down below and we're gonna do this - Winnie So we're going to first use the switchable floor tool and then we're going to use a turbo tool which would be an optional accessory you have to buy. so not the best with that. Again, this is basically what we suspect when we see this sort of straight suction machine. So we're gonna try this optional stool

 this is something you can get from Henry this tool [Music] So again struggled with cat litter. this time got all the breakfast cereal and the only pet hair was left behind was where the belt cover is and I've done this test with this nozzle in several urban eye teams. It's just a characteristic of this nozzle so if you had heavy pet hair you would want to criss cross like you would any other vacuum. We're gonna do that same test on the wood floor
