Ski Review:  I have over 150 sessions on this amazing ski.  I use these skis for lift serviced terrain at Vail.  I also have the DPS F106c2 in a 185cm, and the DPS F112rp in a 184cm in my 4 ski quiver.  The F100 is my all-time favorite big mountain ski, and is a killer single quiver ski for my Vail, Colorado area

 The DPS 100 RP is an outstanding all around ski. It will more than satisfy a large number of skiers in an extremely wide range of conditions, especially trending toward softer snow. The DPS 94 C2 is also an outstanding all around ski that will likewise satisfy most skiers in a wide range of conditions especially trending toward harder snow. The surprising thing is how far in each direction both skis are excellent

The 100 RP has an effective edge that is 55% of the total edge. Compared to the 94 C2, at around 70% effective edge. This site seems to trend toward folks talking about grams, and while the 100 RP balances weight and performance very, very well, you should consider where you want to taste the limits of your ski. Do you need a stiffer ski? Do you need a wider ski? Do you need a heavier ski? The answer could be yes, but I have been impressed by how fun and functional these two DPS skis are on the ups and the downs in a wide variety of conditions, terrain and speeds

The Elan Ripstick 88 is a fantastic ski for the strong intermediate to advanced skier who spends most of their time on trail, but will head off when the conditions are right. Amphibio Rocker has a rockered inside edge on the tips that helps you engage into a turn, lighting quick. Carbon has been added to the inside edge of the chassis to drive even more energy to the snow, and carbon tubes run the length of the sidecut to add even more responsiveness and power. The 88mm waist feels great when you need to make some tight turns on the groomers, while giving some float and stability when you want to hit the trees, bumps or fresh snow.  I honestly would say that it's hard to get more versatile than this. Probably the biggest limitation that we see with skis like the Ripstick 88 here is bigger skiers, mostly from a weight perspective. So because it is on the softer side of the spectrum in terms of flex pattern, if you're a really big skier, and then specifically a really big skier who also likes to ski really fast, you can overpower them.  Today we're talking about the Elan Ripstick 88.

 Super super fun ski, definitely has kind of carved its own little niche in the popular

 So we get a tubelight wood core in this ski.

 They use vapor tip inserts in the tip, which we won't get into in great detail.

 And then they use carbon in two different ways.

 So one of the ways that they use carbon is just a kind of traditional horizontal laminate

 This is the left, so carbon along the inside edge, just in the forebody of the ski.

 And then we get those carbon rods that Elan has kind of become famous for.

 So we get three-dimensional carbon rods that run along the edges of the ski basically.

 And what that does is using carbon in a three-dimensional application provides a lot more vibration

 damping than basically this horizontal sheet up here.

 So you can kind of think of this horizontal sheet of carbon providing a lot of energy
