 [music] [Music] [Music] [Music] So I want to do a full, like, comprehensive, long-term review on the Deuter Kid Comfort - we've had this for nearly a year and a half at this point and have put over a hundred miles of hiking with our kids inside of this pack during that time. So we've got a lot of experience with the pack. and that's mostly what I want to talk about today. and Deuter has done an absolutely fantastic job of creating a product that allows that to happen comfortably

 Aside from all of the features and aspects of the pack that make it great, this thing is really comfortable to carry upwards of almost 40 pounds. My two-year-old is around 30 pounds at this point, and with gear stashed here in the bottom pocket and the weight of the pack, it's close to 40 pounds or a little bit over 40 pounds. but the pack does a really good job of carrying that weight. And I'm going to show you that on the suspension system on the pack here first because this has been what has allowed that to happen

So daughter uses the very flex system their system, but it's essentially a really nice, robust, comfortable suspension system with nice big and wide hip belt pads that have a good thickness to them, but they're nice and sturdy and have a lot of like rigidity to them so that they carry that load and you've got a little bit of a hip articulation here on the back panel with the hip belts that makes it so the pack moves with your body, which is a great great feature of this. It wouldn't be as comfortable if this had sewn in hip belt, so as far as the back panel is concerned, you've got a lot of adjustability to change and adjust this for who's going to be carrying the pack

 You'Ll know yourself, as a parent and up to a weight of 22 kilos, probably age, three or four., When you first wear the harness you're, not really going to notice the weight of your child, but as they get heavier and heavier you're really going to appreciate. Having a good quality harness here, so you can carry on walking for hours and not be crippled at the end of the day.

. This is where you're going to be taking most of the weight of your child, not from your shoulders. Otherwise it can hurt after a while.

Review of the Deuter Kid Comfort Baby Carrier 2021

this video I'm going to talk you through the key  

features of the Deuter Kid Comfort 
baby carrier. Those of you that don't know  

anything about Deuter, it's just worth bearing in 
mind they've been around for over 100 years and  

they specialize in making rucksacks, sleeping bags, 
bike panniers and they really know their stuff when  

it comes to making packs. They've been making 
baby carriers since the late 90's and this is their  

latest version of their best-selling carrier, the Kid Comfort.  There are a lot of features.  

We'll get started at the front, with the 
harness from the adult perspective.

You need to get the right fit for you to make the 
most of getting out and about with a baby carrier.  This 

harness is really adjustable, so my top 
tip for when you first get hold of  

the carrier is to loosen off all the straps so you don't have any restrictions, then you  

can get it nicely fitted to you. The Deuter 
system here is the same on the Pro and it's  

adjustable. You can adjust the 
height of the shoulder straps   

by lifting this orange buckle. You can 
see it behind the mesh and  

pull down so that you see 
a small, medium, large level across the back.

I'm just putting it down to small. I'm five 
foot six and that is the right size for me.  

In terms of who can wear the carrier, anyone 
from five foot two if you bring it right down  

to smaller settings, to someone who's 
six foot four can use this carrier no problem.  

It's adjustable so both parents, 
grandparents can can wear the baby carrier.  

I'm just going to pop it on my back now 
to show you the hip straps. I've loosened  

everything off. The hip fins here are nice and padded.  

You want them to be sitting at the top of 
your hips. The top of my hips are here and I'm  

putting it round here big fast x buckle. This is the bit I love,  

to adjust the strut waist belt 
you pull these straps forward.  

It's really easy and you get a nice tight 
secure fit and that's not going anywhere.  

This is where you're going to be taking 
most of the weight of your child, not from  

your shoulders, otherwise it can hurt after a 
while. You want that nice and tight around your  

waist and you can tidy these by 
tucking them behind this little pouch.    

That keeps them out the way. If I turn sideways you'll see the baby carriage  

hanging off the back here. I want to pull this strap forward  

brought the center of gravity forward so these 
shoulder straps are nice and tight but not too tight  

taking a little bit of weight. I'm going to pop the chest strap across here to stop  

them chafing on the sides of my arms. Most of 
the weight is going through my hips and it's  

comfortable. I can move around and it's stable on the back there. Do take the time to fit it to yourself, it's really worth it.
