Sound Quality

Handles surround sound processing well, but typical Denon/Marantz (Same Company) issues. Handshake problems with HDMI connections. My Oppo player experiences sound dropouts though the HDMI connection. Will likely go option 2, Toslink connection, will just have to sacrifice certain digital processing modes, but, the price to pay with Denon receivers

Great, but Video Select feture only works with essentially 2 inputs

So how about it Denon, be the first to develop a good old fashioned Dumb Line that puts all the quality into the basic features, great sound and great picture. Leave the rest to a Smart Hub that any of us can choose to connect. That's my Soapbox for the day. Now maybe I'll go watch something Apocalyptic where the smart machines take over !!! ;-) !!!

Couldn’t be more pleased!

The new standard requires super high speed connections to not only work, but be stable. Some cables on Amazon claim to be high speed/ bandwidth rated, but are not. I had constant issues with my audio dropping out, my blue ray presenting a stable picture etc., didn’t pay attention to negative reviews regarding the cable ratings and was super frustrated

Big upgrade of our AV receiver

It has plenty of power for my 14’ x 18’ family room, and functions seamlessly with my new LG OLED TV. It has simple on-screen step by step instructions for speaker calibration, it automatically decodes all the latest (and legacy) digital audio formats, it offers easy setup for four different 7.2.1 speaker placements, and it provides non-confusing options to choose various custom surround audio modes and settings

Other then that, it will be heard to beat the bells and whistles for the discounted price. I purchased over the AVR- 3600H. It doesn’t have as many channels but more features.

I did some research and I can get a billion more watts with a Crown or Behringer professional amp, or I can get something intended for home music listening like a Emotiva or Parasound. Used Parasounds A23s seem to be well liked here, and are around a price I can fuck with.

Darn good start on a home theater system.

This is a basic but capable AV receiver that will serve most folks starting out assembling a good home theater system. It's easy to set up. All instructions are easy to follow and will likely give you the results you expect. It has the software and hardware to help you run all of your equipment, and it seems to learn from the choices you make to make your equipment function better together
