Davek Elite vs Totes Blue Line Auto Wooden Stick Umbrella

I bought a babyjogger city elite when I had my first kid 11 years ago, and it's handled everything the next 3 kids could throw at it for more than a decade. we used the thing whenever we needed max comfort/capability/storage and it was the MVP of every theme park trip / vacation / intl trip for more than 10 years.

The reason I didn't give this umbrella 5/5: Firstly, the "wooden" handle seems to be a laminate product or a very cheap looking wood on close inspection. Secondly, the black umbrella was missing one of the two nails that secure the TOTES logo to the handle. Nothing major, but to get a 5/5 rating it would need to have all the little things covered. I'm sure this umbrella will see plenty of use this winter, so if my review changes I'll update it accordingly

You spend thousands on your wardrobe. Perhaps it’s time you upgraded your umbrella. Just be smart about it. The guarantee doesn’t mean Davek will replace your umbrella if you leave it with the fine driver of a taxicab

Overall, out of the box this umbrella looks better and seems stronger and more durable than any umbrella I've used before. It's certainly worth the money to pay for this beautiful model rather than going with the much less classy and less durable umbrellas sold in rite-aid, safeway, walgreens or other stores.

Other reviews mention it, and it’s spot on. One day of use. Umbrella slips off the chair and the ferrule pops out. Overall not bad, and I was lucky enough to catch it so I can glue it back in when I get home, but for this price I’m really disappointed

Today however, it no longer latches shut. I will pull it closed and it immediately flies back open, I have to hold it shut and latch the velcro strap to keep it from opening. It's past the return window so I can't exchange it, other than that it's a great umbrella.

This is a good umbrella--it may well be a great umbrella. large, windproof--exceeds specs for the job. Up there well in range of classic British models but made in New York. Looks good too! I wanted something expensive enough that I would be disinclined to lose it or forget it--this certainly is

Feels sturdy and I love the feel of the handle (proper materials). So far so good over August and September. hope it survives heavier storms and the winter.

I bought this as a gift for someone who appreciates premium products which are value for money. This is a great buy, built to last, as they say.

Pros: This umbrella is a steal for the money. If you're looking for a respectable, sturdy umbrella, this is for you. Everyone looks great carrying this around, and you'd never guess that it's $20. The wooden handle has a great feel, and the opening mechanism works great as long as you don't use the umbrella as a walking stick
