 Let's proceed to testing the brake test. Again, this one is advertised to be 16 kg or 35 lbs brake test. It initially broke at 8.8 kg at the knot

Disclaimer: This is an unbiased review and lines could vary between different batches. I have purchased this myself and this is what I have received so this is what I have tested. Break tests and other specs vary depending on how manufacturers test their lines.

Here I review a fishing line to see if it really lives up to its advertised specs.

I will be doing more fishing line reviews as well as terminal tackles such as swivels, bait clips, and many more.

Can I recommend this? I really do. That's why I feel it's important to know the actual break test (not the advertised specs) of lines so i can use them where it seems fit for purpose.
I only use 15-20lbs lines, with 18 lbs as my personal "sweet spot," as I believe this is sufficient for most fish species that I can catch from the shore.

I will say it is a really good line having that thin of a diameter and breaking at 11 kilograms - that is just incredible.

 Hello fishing buddies and welcome to my review of the Daiwa J-Braid Grand X8 fishing line.

 As far as I'm aware, this is supposed to be their second, much better version of this

 I have the 16 kg or 35 lbs line and 0.20 mm diameter.

 And as with all braided lines, this one has practically no line memory.

 Using my cheap caliper, this one measures to 0.12 mm in diameter.

 Having used braids before, I was expecting this to behave the same as other braids when

 Unfortunately, it seems like this particular braid will not glow under UV lights.

 Click on the tab on the upper right corner for my review of the braid that glows with

 Again, this one is advertised to be 16 kg or 35 lbs brake test.

 It initially broke at 8.8 kg at the knot.

 This time it broke at 11 kg, that is about 24.25 lbs.

 So there you have it, Daiwa J-Braid Grand X8 line.

 Now, it might not be braking at the advertised 16 kg, but it braking at 11 kg with an advertised

 line diameter of 0.20 mm, that is just incredible.

 I have had good luck with J-Braid GRAND 8. Only time will tell on the durability. I haven't tried it bass fishing. suppose it will be fine

Not sure if I received a defective line but avoid buying this at all cost since its a waste of money

Yes it causes alot of wind knots and the line breaks easily

 (Tested 8 times and scale was checked for accuracy) I was very surprised because Diawa J-braid Grand x8 has a great reputation for having actual breaking strengths well in excess of rated strength.
