Daiwa BG Review | The Perfect Spinning Reel???

I’m relatively new as well, but if you’re looking to downsize to something more balanced, I highly recommend the daiwa bg, but I’d go down to a 2500, and pair it with a medium rod. I use a 10-20lbs braid and a 8-10 lbs fluoro leader. I think it’s the perfect middle rod that’s light enough to throw your lure all day, and strong enough to handle just about anything your frozen bait might hook on to.

So I’m 0/4 for my fishing trips to the pier unless you count squid, pilchards, and pinfish. The accumulation of my knowledge up to this point reasons that my lack of success may be because my main rod and reel are much too heavy for my main target? 

I’ve been considering a Daiwa BG 3000 reel with a Light-Medium rod for more sensitivity but I’m unsure if that’s my problem or not.

One month into fishing and I think I’ve been using the wrong rod and reel.

 Spooled with 30# and 40# braid they are perfect for casting top water lures and pretty good for live bait. When fishing live mackerel I either leave reel in open spool and hold the line waiting for a hit, or close the bail and set near zero drag when leaving rod in a holder. Over the winter they are relatively easy to disassemble and service. I fish from a boat so I don't need the 100% sealed bearings of a VanStaal or Stella

 Partly do to the reel is not sealed but I’m ok with that I don’t plan on going swimming in the ocean with this. Let’s be realistic I would not do that with any reel under $600 sealed or not.  Okay, so this is the Shimano Calcutta Conquest DC101HG. It was first introduced in the Yokohama Fishing Show in 2020 and the size that I've bought here, this is the size 100. there is another newer model released in 2021, but it is not the Dc type or Dc model. It is the the normal type without the Dc

 My SLX DC baitcasting reel is a great entry level Dc braking reel, but the only thing that it's lacking is a drag sound. And you know, I'm addicted to drag sound so it is a bit disappointing when you can't hear the drag screams while you are reeling in a lunker, right? But there is an option which which is to modify my SLX DC braking system. but I don't want to do that because I'm trying to preserve the SLX DC in this stock condition. So I go with option number two, which is to buy a Bc reel with EDS technology in it instead

 Let me fix this back. Okay, because the Calcutta Conquest Dc comes with the Idc5 technology, there are 5 brake control options to be selected. 1 to 4 are the semi-automatic where the smaller the number, the less Dc braking will be applied and you have to somehow apply thumb braking to compensate that. But option number five, which is the W is the fully automatic braking where the braking process will be fully controlled and adjusted by the Dc system

and it is made in Japan printed in Japan so
it's made in Japan reel I've owned several

Shimano reels and especially my Stradics my
SLX DC all of them are made in Malaysia they

they were locally made and this is um my first
ever made in Japan reel so this is my first

one JDM reel okay so this is the distributor
okay so let's open the box

this is the reel all right so let us check

reel okay so here you have the uh I think
the exploded view part list the warranty card

which uh so maybe I need a translator after
this you know I need a translator uh to translate

all of this because you know I'm not familiar
with Japanese okay so maybe one of you guys
