CRKT Minimalist cleaver vs Kershaw Camp 18

Through many others, I finally have been using the CRKT minimalist and actually just ordered a SpyderCo LadyBug (supposed to be about 15 g). I don’t think I’ll ever be someone who ditches a knife completely or goes the razor blade route, but I’ve definitely shaved a lot of weight over the years. Small steps down definitely helped, as I don’t think I would’ve even considered such a tiny knife even 3 years ago. Especially for smaller items, I think it helps to gradually cut down instead of just going cold turkey

Opinel, Mora, CRKT minimalist, traditional folders like Case or GEC, Spyderco Salt, hawkbill knife (MKM makes a pretty neat one).

When you pick this little bad boy up you just know it means business. It's heavy, solid, and serious. If the zombie apocalypse happens in the near future, this will be the go-to machete I'll have strapped to my leg. A very nice machete at a good price

My priorities are towards concealeable fixed blades. I highly prefer belt carry knifes as while i exchange pants and thus pocket sizes and arrangements regulary (office jeans at work, cargos in my free time, bike pants on the bike), my belt always gonna be my belt and on every pant, be it summer, winter, walking or riding my motorbike.

The outer layer of the handle is so thin that it is worn through in multiple spots straight from the seller. It gives the handle of the knife a very shop-worn appearance right out of the box. It makes it look like someone has used the handle portion of the knife for a long time.

Great knife, except it just falls out of it sheath. And after weeks of this happening it finally fell out and i didnt feel it. So now its gone. Was a good fit and sharp durable, just sheath was no good and now a waste of money because now its gone!

There is some rattle in the sheath and is made of ABS but it is pretty decent. I can't comment much on durability till a later date but TBH, at the price i can buy 3 of the for the price of a sturdy Esee Junglas (I know sizes are off but it's a reference). That gives me one two throw at anyone who has a snobby comment about the China steel, and one for each hand ;) It depends on what you use it for.

The sheath adds so much value to the product and I am already looking for my next variant to get. I would recommend this to anyone that in the market currently.

The knife is exactly as described on the site I found one problem which isn't all that terrible but it still is a problem any how the sheath itself takes and holds the knife too loosely for my taste I can probably remedy it but I just haven't figured what I will be doing just yet further review will reveal what I intend to do for now it is a very good knife well worth the price as compared to a few others

Here lately, I’ve been sitting on the porch in the evenin working on making little feather sticks with it for lighting fire with. I have to say it does indeed work pretty well for that. Maybe I’ll take this little cleaver with me the next time I go deer hunting out in West Texas and see how she holds up in a camping sort of situation. I have to be completely honest here though
