Now you may have done this already, so this next part might be key for you, as it was for me. As the print starts extruding the purge line, and then the skirt/brim, look really really close at the filament being laid down. If it isn’t sticking at all right away, nozzle is almost definitely too far from the bed. If it’s sticking but not well, still probably too far

I have gone through an entire fucking roll of filament trying to troubleshoot this god damn printer (Creality CP-01). I have used various types of glue, heated the glass bed, used masking tape, slowed down the print speed, sped up the print speed, switched filament types, preheated my filament, dried out the filament, resealed it in bags when not in use, roughed up the build plate with \*super\* fine sandpaper, changed the infill percentage, changed slicing software - NOTHING has \*\*fucking\*\* worked, and I am \*super\* close to just throwing my shitty printer out into the trash so it can actually do something productive other than take up space in my garage and print spaghetti.

Any advice? Do I need an enclosure? I live in Nevada, there is literally \*\*no\*\* moisture present.

My God Damn Print Won't Stay Stuck to the Fucking Build Plate

 It'S still quite easy to turn, and this is where you want, because we want a really smooth motion. So, for the last few things all we need to do is plug in some connectors and there's actually only a few there's these two stepper motors. So quite simple. One here and then one on this side and then we have a large main wire and it has two plugs on it

 So it is smart enough to know not to put a hot nozzle into the bed. I'M really happy to see that kind of attention to detail all right. So it is 117 temperature and it's starting to go okay, so it actually touches the bed and takes its measurement like that really cool thinking about this guys. This might be the best way to do this, because not only will it be always accurate, since it's the nozzle, there should be a lot less issues with this kind of level

 So quite simple. One here and then one on this side and then we have a large main wire and it has two plugs on it. There'S one about halfway and that one will go right here and that's a junction box where everything is distributed to the end, stop switches and the motors so that'll plug in right here. Just like that, and the other end goes to the hot end, which is here right on top, you can see, there's a plug and that just simply plugs right into there

 Now you might want to go ahead and go around the printer and check all the bolts, because they do tighten them up really good at the factory, but over time, and also temperature changes can loosen them up a bit. So checking them is always a good idea. Make sure they're, nice and snug, so one of these was quite loose yeah this one's very loose, so there's four more on the other side, and these are very tight. So that's good! Now there are some more bolts that are underneath, and these are quite important if these are loose, the y axis can wobble back and forth so definitely check these underneath and make sure they're, nice and snug

If you are new to 3D printing, and are unsure of what to ask, try to include the following in your posts as a minimum:

* Your budget, set at a numeric amount. Saying "cheap," or "money is not a problem" is not an answer people can do much with. 3D printers can cost $100, they can cost $10,000,000, and anywhere in between. A rough idea of what you're looking for is essential to figuring out anything else.
* Your country of residence.
* If you are willing to build the printer from a kit, and what your level of experience is with electronic maintenance and construction if so.
* What you wish to do with the printer.
* Any extenuating circumstances that would restrict you from using machines that would otherwise fit your needs (limited space for the printer, enclosure requirement, must be purchased through educational intermediary, etc).

While this is by no means an exhaustive list of what can be included in your posts, these questions should help paint enough of a picture to get started. Don't be afraid to ask more questions, and never worry about asking too many. The people posting in this thread are here because they want to give advice, and any questions you have answered may be useful to others later on, when they read through this thread looking for answers of their own. Everyone here was new once, so chances are whoever is replying to you has a good idea of how you feel currently.

Additionally, a quick word on print quality: Most FDM/FFF (that is, filament based) printers are capable of approximately the same tolerances and print appearance, as the biggest limiting factor is in the nature of extruded plastic. **Asking if a machine has "good prints," or saying "I don't expect the best quality for $xxx" isn't actually relevant for the most part** with regards to these machines. Should you need additional detail and higher tolerances, you may want to explore SLA, DLP, and other photoresin options, as those *do* offer an increase in overall quality. If you are interested in resin machines, make sure you are aware of [how to use them safely](https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrinting/wiki/resinprinting#wiki_safety). For these safety reasons we don't usually recommend a resin printer as someone's first printer.

 The Phrozen Sonic Mini 8K. Let's give it a review.

 Hey guys, I've been looking forward to reviewing this printer since I first told you about

 it back in October, so let's crack on with it.

 To begin with, yes, it is the Mini 8K, even though it's considerably larger than the

 Mini 4K. It's not a massive printer, but it's a nice decent size. So mini it is,

 but by name only. And first impressions are very good. It's

 a nice sturdy looking printer. The base is quite weighty and solid.

 The menu screen isn't the biggest I've seen, but it's far from the smallest and

 it's clear and easy to use. The USB port is located on the front, but

 far enough away from the menu screen as to not get in the way.

 The power point and switch are located at the rear, along with a single fan which seems

 fairly quiet in operation. The dual linear rails seem chunky and firm.

 The appearance and width alone suggest stability. There's certainly no wobble here that I've

 seen. The bull plate also seems chunky. Lots of

 thick metal smoothly engineered into something robust and quite large.

 This plate seems bigger than the Sonic 4K. It also seems bigger than the Mars 2 Pro.

 And you can begin to see why I'm questioning the name Mini 8K now, can't you?

 But the shape of the plate is unusual. It's wide but more narrow than we've typically

 seen. It's more a letterbox shape. The surface has a frosted laser cut finish

 and trust me, prints stick very well to this. I've actually destroyed a couple of prints

 in the process of removal, so thicken up those rafts.

 The resin tray is metal construction and held in place with removable bolts, so don't

 drop and lose these. But there's a nice clear max level indicator

 to avoid over-filling. And that, of course, leads us to the heart

 of this printer. The 8K LCD screen, capable of delivering 22

 microns of XY resolution. And that is a really big deal.

 I believe this is a world first and surpasses the resolution of any other home grade printer

 with a staggering 1152 pixels per inch. And this, in essence, should mean the best

 quality prints we've seen at this end of the printer market.

 So I was genuinely excited to get printing with the Mini 8K, but fate had other ideas.

 When I performed the LCD test, something didn't look right.

 Adding a piece of paper made this even worse and broke my little nerdy heart.

 But let's be realistic, these things happen. It's happened to me and it could happen

 to you. I got straight on to Phrozen Support and they

 were excellent. Through a couple of very simple videos they

 were able to guide me through a quick diagnosis and sure enough the mirror inside my printer

 had broken. Now we can't blame Phrozen for this.

 The printer had been very well packed and arrived looking perfect.

 But look at the box. See the crease line? Maybe, just maybe, that's the result of
