 What to do if you're somebody who needs a direct drive on a large format printer which has to work reliably, this machine is something for you only if you want to invest some time tinkering and improving the machine. It's not that extreme, but you will need some time. If you're a user who wants to take it out of the box, assemble it for 20 minutes, and then never touch it again, then this machine might not be for you to give you a little bit impression of my own journey about a sprinter. I made this small little graphics where you have time on the X-axis and height on the y-axis Um, basically this was my experience after buying the printer

 All in all, yes, I would re-buy this machine, but I would have a different expectation of the machine. And for me, it's personally very important that you have the right expectation. But all I can say at this moment in time is, well, that's not an easy call to make. I need more time to compare for you guys and I will do that. However, regardless of that outcome, I have to say that this is the best printing LCD printer I have personally come across, able to produce excellent quality prints on a home grade printer. In essence it's a real winner and a new standard for others to attain

When I performed the LCD test, something didn't look right. Adding a piece of paper made this even worse and broke my little nerdy heart

 The Phrozen Sonic Mini 8K. Let's give it a review.

 Hey guys, I've been looking forward to reviewing this printer since I first told you about

 it back in October, so let's crack on with it.

 To begin with, yes, it is the Mini 8K, even though it's considerably larger than the

 Mini 4K. It's not a massive printer, but it's a nice decent size. So mini it is,

 but by name only. And first impressions are very good. It's

 a nice sturdy looking printer. The base is quite weighty and solid.

 The menu screen isn't the biggest I've seen, but it's far from the smallest and

 it's clear and easy to use. The USB port is located on the front, but

 far enough away from the menu screen as to not get in the way.

 The power point and switch are located at the rear, along with a single fan which seems

 fairly quiet in operation. The dual linear rails seem chunky and firm.

 The appearance and width alone suggest stability. There's certainly no wobble here that I've

 seen. The bull plate also seems chunky. Lots of

 thick metal smoothly engineered into something robust and quite large.

 This plate seems bigger than the Sonic 4K. It also seems bigger than the Mars 2 Pro.

 And you can begin to see why I'm questioning the name Mini 8K now, can't you?

 But the shape of the plate is unusual. It's wide but more narrow than we've typically

 seen. It's more a letterbox shape. The surface has a frosted laser cut finish

 and trust me, prints stick very well to this. I've actually destroyed a couple of prints

 in the process of removal, so thicken up those rafts.

 The resin tray is metal construction and held in place with removable bolts, so don't

 drop and lose these. But there's a nice clear max level indicator

 to avoid over-filling. And that, of course, leads us to the heart

 of this printer. The 8K LCD screen, capable of delivering 22

 microns of XY resolution. And that is a really big deal.

 I believe this is a world first and surpasses the resolution of any other home grade printer

 with a staggering 1152 pixels per inch. And this, in essence, should mean the best

 quality prints we've seen at this end of the printer market.

 So I was genuinely excited to get printing with the Mini 8K, but fate had other ideas.

 When I performed the LCD test, something didn't look right.

 Adding a piece of paper made this even worse and broke my little nerdy heart.

 But let's be realistic, these things happen. It's happened to me and it could happen

 to you. I got straight on to Phrozen Support and they

 were excellent. Through a couple of very simple videos they

 were able to guide me through a quick diagnosis and sure enough the mirror inside my printer

 had broken. Now we can't blame Phrozen for this.

 The printer had been very well packed and arrived looking perfect.

 But look at the box. See the crease line? Maybe, just maybe, that's the result of

 being dropped. And good packaging or not, a shock from a drop like that might well be

 enough to shatter a mirror. And these things travel a long way and pass

 through many hands before arriving at our homes.

 So again, I say, these things happen. The good news is, Phrozen responded very quickly

 and shipped out a new mirror in less than a week that I was able to replace with ease.

 And that meant I could do some printing and I was lucky enough to have a bottle of the

 new Phrozen Aqua 8K resin to test with. So life was looking good.

 The Mini 8K comes shipped with a Chitu box slicer as standard. But before any of you

 abandon hopes of purchase on the strength of this, there is good news. I've spoken

 with our friends at Lychee and they've already prepared a release for the Phrozen Mini 8K.

 So where Lychee leads, other slicers will follow, which means you'll have plenty of
