I've looked pretty extensively at the best value purifiers in terms of cost to CADR rato and found the winners to be the Coway Mighty AP-1512HH (note: NOT the AirMega) and the Blue air 211+. These models get high ratings from consumer reports and Wirecutter as well. I have 2 of the mighties for our bedrooms and a 211+ for our living room and have been happy with them. 

Looking for some personal recommendations from people running air purifiers in there home because im looking to buy one. Any advice or feedback is welcome

Edit2: Im looking for the best model possible for HEPA filtration and a carbon solution for gas/VOC/odor. that would hopefully work for most of the house. I will eventually add another unit or two to supplement. I&#39;m trying to find the top of the line, best of the best air purifier. Something that blows the competition out of the water and has a solid warranty and build quality. High purchase price is okay.

 It turns on higher when needed, when it detects odors and impurities in the air (just now, when my son is making popcorn, it kicked on). It's a powerhouse that works really well. I also like that it's compact and has a nice sleek look to it. It blends into the decor and I'm really glad it's not black

Noticeable improvement

 I keep mine in "auto" mode and that really works - if any type of particulate matter is introduced to the room (like cigar smoke, for instance) the unit goes into high gear until the air is clean again. I am quite pleased with the purchase and would definitely recommend this product.

I ordered the Sharper Image PURIFY 9 Whole Room Air Cleaner with True HEPA Filtration, Activated Carbon Filter, Visual Air Quality Indicator, for Home, Bedroom and Office when my dog and I seemed to be experiencing some mystery allergy symptoms and this thing has been a life saver. It's so easy to plug it in and start using it. The touch screen is so intuitive to use, even if you haven't glanced at the instruction manual. Here are some pros and cons of this unit:  Pros: - Works amazingly well

 Eliminates odors quickly (I've used it in a freshly painted "stinky" room, have used it in the kitchen when food was burned and the place was full of smoke, etc.) - Easy to use. Powerful yet quiet. Amazing.

  Now repaired, I can appreciate the responsive touch control panel, the simple filter replacement, and the overall esthetic design. The electronically controlled motor is very efficient, using only 2 watts on the lowest speed and only 32 watts on the highest setting of “6” where it moves a LOT of air. Had the unit functioned as received, I would have rated it much higher. Replacement filters are reasonably priced and well made, and easy to change

 Despite my low rating, I believe that my experience is an exception to the norm and that this is an effective, compact, and handsome air purifier worth your consideration.

 It is somewhat noisier at speed level “6” (highest) than I expected, but in its defense, it is moving a lot of air at that point. I measured a 13MPH (19 feet per second) breeze at 1 foot from the top of the unit on that high setting.  On the lowest two speeds, it is virtually silent, and what air noise it does make blends into the background household noises completely. What should be an excellent air purifier was hampered by what looks to me to be less than optimal quality control

 In short, it now worked as designed.  I have now run this air purifier for many hours and at various settings and find that it ostensibly cleans volumes of air as it circulates the air in the room. It is somewhat noisier at speed level “6” (highest) than I expected, but in its defense, it is moving a lot of air at that point. I measured a 13MPH (19 feet per second) breeze at 1 foot from the top of the unit on that high setting

Dead On Arrival – BUT,  Please Read To The End

This seems like a well made purifier but it hasn't convinced me that it is really working. I put it in a room with very old (50+ years) dusty carpet and it continually says the air is perfect, which is a little hard to believe.

 The unit will also show you when to replace the filter. It gives off a new "plasticky" smell. I am hoping this smell will fade with time.

A Good Unit

 I didn’t help any with the odor of cooking fish.  I initially used the automatic setting that is supposed to automatically adjust the speed of the purifier, but this didn’t work either. No matter the amount of activity in the room or odors, the purifier always ran on the lowest setting.  The other major issue I had is the price of the replacement filters

 I checked the price of the filters before I got this purifier and they were around $30, which is actually a good price and one I was willing to pay. The filters are now $69, triple the price. That’s a price I’m not willing to pay, particularly for an air purifier that doesn’t seem to be doing much.  The controls are easy to use and you dim the lights for night time use
