I've looked pretty extensively at the best value purifiers in terms of cost to CADR rato and found the winners to be the Coway Mighty AP-1512HH (note: NOT the AirMega) and the Blue air 211+. These models get high ratings from consumer reports and Wirecutter as well. I have 2 of the mighties for our bedrooms and a 211+ for our living room and have been happy with them. 

Looking for some personal recommendations from people running air purifiers in there home because im looking to buy one. Any advice or feedback is welcome

Edit2: Im looking for the best model possible for HEPA filtration and a carbon solution for gas/VOC/odor. that would hopefully work for most of the house. I will eventually add another unit or two to supplement. I&#39;m trying to find the top of the line, best of the best air purifier. Something that blows the competition out of the water and has a solid warranty and build quality. High purchase price is okay.

 It turns on higher when needed, when it detects odors and impurities in the air (just now, when my son is making popcorn, it kicked on). It's a powerhouse that works really well. I also like that it's compact and has a nice sleek look to it. It blends into the decor and I'm really glad it's not black

Noticeable improvement

 I keep mine in "auto" mode and that really works - if any type of particulate matter is introduced to the room (like cigar smoke, for instance) the unit goes into high gear until the air is clean again. I am quite pleased with the purchase and would definitely recommend this product.

 As a purifier for smoke and odor, this is actually a pretty good one though. When I cook and this turns on, my house smells less – although it doesn’t completely eliminate the smell. In fact, neither the Coway nor the Levoit was able to completely eliminate smells (but that was not my concern at all). The best thing about the Levoit, and I feel is the biggest selling point, is that it’s Wifi-enabled for an amazing price

 Now, I wasn’t here to review Coway at all, but I couldn't give a review of Levoit's air purifier without comparing the two. Looking at other people's reviews about how Levoit's air purifier helped with their allergies and such though, made me feel like either I got a defective device from Levoit, or our allergies are actually much more severe than the regular folks with allergies. Anyways, given that Levoit gave me no relief from my somewhat allergies in comparison to the other brand that I bought and tried at the same time, I will admit that I would probably not buy Levoit’s purifiers for myself ever again. If I had a friend that just needed something to keep the air clean and somewhat help with odors, AND really wanted one that’s Wifi-enabled, I’d definitely recommend this though

Used for 5 months, here's my review

We bought this unit for our bedroom. We have two german shepherds, which creates a very dusty home. My wife has allergies which makes her life miserable at times, so we were looking for something to help with that. It's always hard to tell just how much of a difference these make, but I do like it

 We turn it up a bit at night for the white noise and increase air filtration. We have an older competitors brand that seems to register the air quality as worse when the dogs walk by as opposed to the new one makes very little change. When cooking and creating some smoke, the new units goes into overdrive to clear up the air, where the older one doesn't change at all. So no clue why one changes and the other doesn't

Nice Quality for a Reasonable Price

I noticed that while the unit is quiet in terms of fan noise, rumble, rattling or any other typical issues of purifiers, there is a high pitched winey sound. Ever since I heard it, I can’t unhear it in a quiet room. I went ahead and bought a 2nd 400S and the 2nd one was actually a bit worse. The noise fades away when the TV is on or the HVAC system kicks in but it’s just annoying enough in a silent room that I’m debating a return

 No chance I could nap on the couch now that I’m aware of that noise unless I drown it out with something else. 

My older purifier (2019) is a Bissell Air 220 which I have moved to the basement. This unit is remarkably louder but the loudness is more of a white noise and over time you don’t even hear it. It’s louder but a more pleasant frequency. 

 I went ahead and bought a 2nd 400S and the 2nd one was actually a bit worse. I purchased a Levoit 400S for our living room about 10 days ago. I’m a big fan of auto mode on any air purifier and I have a smart home so any appliance that is WiFi based is ideal. 

 I had gotten this unit during Prime Day and on impulse doing quick reviews on different brands before settling on this one. I got it for the bedroom and it is performing better than I had anticipated.  The noise generated from the unit is not that high. I had hope it would run totally silent, (its not) but the air flow sound is not as high as one would expect

This Levoit unit performs better than what I had expected.

It mostly does the job we need it to. The app is very handy and useful. The purifier seemed to work really well to eliminate odors the first day we had it but doesn’t seem to do as good of a job now about a week later.

It's okay

I got this air purifier during the pandemic and I am so happy with it. It is easy to use and it makes my room feel so much cleaner. It’s pretty quiet and I leave it on all day! I definitely recommend getting an air purifier like this especially for an office or if you live with multiple people.

Game changer

 It’s too loud for sleeping for most people but I can’t imagine needing this run on high.  The only issue I have so far is when I first set it up the sensor showed my air quality was a 5. I believe that is 5 out of 100. Yes, it’s true I had been running my old unit but I expected a higher number

 I’m not sure that is very accurate.  I’m not going to reduce my rating based on the fancy sensor number and color that don’t seem to be valid. I’m going to see how well it works. The instructions say to remove the filter every couple weeks and vacuum or brush any large debris that might collect on it

  Replacement filters are expensive at $60 so I sure hope they last a year as advertised.  If necessary, I will update this review if anything changes.

I read a ton of reviews and did a lot of research before making this purchase. I suffer from horrific allergies and for some reason they are not abating this year. I’m allergic to just about everything. My last air purifier conked out on me after many, many years
