The sensor default setting is pretty good. To confirm it does work, various air pollutants was purposely blew right at the sensor, such as vape, smoke, smoky oil. It does take 1 to 2 second for the sensor to detect it and the fan ramps to HIGH.

This product works well, However, when I bought it I was not able to change the temperature units from C to F, and while this product does respond to voice command, It only works with Alexa or Siri. As an Android user with Google Home Devices, this does is not useful for me and not worth the $600 I paid for it. This was a horrible experience and extremely expensive. Amazon, please refund me or send me a new Dyson product. We have someone who needs clean air in this household and this was a really bad thing to happen for us due to health concerns. Extremely disappointed and stressed out

•Replacement filters cost a small fortune. I still went with this device because you can clean and reuse the filters so they last longer. •UPDATE: You are supposed to be able to wash the filters, but in my experience if you get any amount of water on the edges of the filters then they will deteriorate and leave black stains while drying out.
