  The Filters: The filters that the Airmega uses are clearly very high quality. I don't have much more to say about them other than when you pick one of the filter up, you can just tell how well made they are. This device also has a pre-filter which I greatly appreciate much more than I had expected. I purchased this to reduce the amount of dust in my bedroom and the pre-filter does a great job filtering out a good portion of the dust

The Build Quality: Again it's hard to explain this one, rather it's something that comes intuitively after interacting with the produce.  This device also has a pre-filter which I greatly appreciate much more than I had expected.  I have found that the historical chart regularly displays the quality of the air as always very good and shows little variation in the quality, despite the real-time status of the air quality regularly spiking into the 'very poor' range due to my use of aerosols in that room. It seems as though the historical chart averages our the air-quality and smooths out the spikes so much that I have never seen the historical chart show anything outside of the very good range. In my opinion this significantly diminishes the usefulness of the feature. I also own a Dyson air purifier with an air quality sensor and I have found the historical chart for that device to provide a historical chart of air quality with much greater resolution

HIGHLY RECOMMEND: The fundamentals of this air purifier are phenomenal, but skip the smart features...

  The power of this unit is amazing, if you turn it up all the way IT IS LOUD, but at the lowest setting I don't really notice the unit, other items in my room make more noise. I'm going to put some recommendations below, but if you can only afford one unit, don't worry, even 2 full air scrubs an hour is AMAZING, better then most things out there. If you keep it running 24 hours a day your house will be VERY clean.  My 2 cents in an IDEAL situation (if you have the extra money to spend):  In single floor house I would get one for the master bedroom and one for a common area (living room, kitchen, dining room) as far away from the bedroom as possible

 . . just do it. I had "Cleanable" filters in the past such as the Honeywell AirGenius 4 & 5 , let me say when you have to do it 4 times a year, I rather just pay $120 for the set

 Do you have dogs or live in an area with bad air quality? Get this! The only downside is that the filters need to be replaced once a year and typically around $120 for the full set, you dispose the old ones. But when it comes to health . . 

  Next I moved to the Honeywell True Clean HEPA HPA300 ($250 each), this unit is also very big with 3 HEPA filters (much smaller filters than the Conway but it has 3 of them instead of 2, and a large replaceable charcoal filter in front of the HEPAs. Although a great unit, I wanted more coverage instead of buying more of these. Consumer reports rates this their top 3 filters on the market, if you have a smaller apartment / condo and want to save some money, this one is great and the replacement filters are half the price (but a little less than 60% of the coverage at around 465 square feet - i'll explain soon why the Coway Airmega 400s should only only be rated at 780 square feet).  Lastly I moved the Molekule setup ($800 each) , although a very attractive unit the pre-filter is TINY and got clogged all the time

Amazing Air Purifier! Software needs guidance (READ ME)

  My sinus allergies are improved by 90% for sure - basically no congestion and I definitely sleep better due to no congestion at night. The machine, on low, is basically silent at night. I have an opinion that the “auto” mode feature is useless for air purification. Air needs to move to be filtered

The indicator is on blue 95% of the time (so I guess the air in our house is overall clean), which means that the unit would rarely run at all when on auto mode! What is the point of that? Why buy an air purifier only to have it on idle most of the time? It changes to purple when cooking or when the central heat kicks on (maybe some dust inducts). It also immediately detects when a candle is burning 10 feet away

We bought our Airmega 400 to handle some basic dust and allergy concerns in the house, as well as another layer of virus and bacteria infections protection. We are a family of 3 and no pets. We do have a central Honeywell F300 electrostatic system (rated at HEPA 13) (including UV light treatment), but we have found that it only works best when the central blower is running full blast (it is loud), so that is not working out for us. We bought one Airmega to try it out first, but I will probably add one more unit

 You can put the back of the unit against the wall, just not the sides. My only other advise after doing some major research on air purifiers and getting the most benefit out of one is to leave it running 24/7 without depending on Smart Mode. This is the only way you can guarantee clean/fresh air because it will never enter Sleep Mode and wait for a trigger. I leave mine on Level 2 from 7am until 2am

Worth It!

.  The filters on this unit are impressive. One side is a honeycomb filter media loaded with carbon pellets for filtering out odors, with the other side being the HEPA. Once I had these unpacked, I installed the pre-filters and replaced the exterior covers and got this unit up and running!  Operation is very easy and straight forward

 Very happy with it’s performance.  The air absolutely feels cleaner. Perhaps it is a placebo effect, but there is no denying that this unit is great for removing allergens and odors out of the house. I am very happy with this unit and would highly recommend it!

 We have a nearly 3000 square foot new construction home. It’s about three years old. Most of our air contaminants likely come from area construction, as well as a year round growing season, with year round pollen and similar contaminants. My oldest child has had a persistent hack for the last couple of years

 Then I recognized what I was spending on allergy medication each month, for one child. The filters provide clean, allergy free air for the whole family, at a fraction of the cost of allergy medications for one child. By reducing our allergy medication costs, we can replace filters as needed, an no added cost. I would have thought building a new home would prevent these issues, but the other new construction in the area, seems to exacerbate the issue

 The dirty air is then pushed back up to that open area, and filtered by the unit. The unit can tell when air is clean or dirty, and increases, or decreases circulation, accordingly. Anecdotally this seems to be a successful test, eliminating our primary concern. The side benefit is the remainder of our family is now breathing cleaner, healthier air

 You can turn the "air quality lights" off for nighttime use.  Overall, the best looking, smartest made, quietest air filter I’ve owned that seems to do a fabulous job filtering the air. It seems like it will easily give me the “average 5-7 years” of use that I find to be the life of most of these units. The AirMega 300 is also small, my IQ was like a piece of furniture! :)

 Approx. life is 12 months (we'll see). There is a filter change % indicator which is great; with other air filters I've owned a red light just comes on so you aren't sure how urgent a filter change really is. I also appreciate the Max2 filter's high quality and low cost ($99 set)

 With use, all parts of an air filter do get dusty so this is very handy. Finally a design that disassembles quickly so the whole thing can be cleaned! With my IQ air, it had to be pried open, then I had to balance it open carefully to slide out the bottom filter unit; it was always top heavy and the filter that needed changing most was at the bottom where the air intake was. I literally had to straddle the thing, balance it open with my feet, then wiggle out the filter, un-clip it and vacuum. I had to vacuum this several times during the 4-6 month filter life as dog hair would be the “first” level of trappings

 - The noise levels are reasonable, and the sound this unit makes is not annoying in any way. The highest setting certainly makes some noise, but it is very smooth sounding and it's almost like a soothing background noise without any annoying buzzing sounds that some fans can make at high speed. Noise levels at low and medium speed are perfect, you may not even realize it is running unless the room is silent. - In smart mode, when it automatically switches from off to low to circulate air, the fan seems to make a burst of noise before quieting down that is noticeable -- almost like it starts at high and works its way down from there

This air purifier has been working great for me so far, and I even purchased a second one for my parents! The air quality around here has been less than optimal the past couple of years, and so I decided to invest in air purifiers for my home, especially since I spend a lot of time around the house these days ever since my job has switched to working from home.  I have an air quality monitor in the same room as this air purifier, and this purifier makes a notable difference when it is running, especially for particulates and pollen. There are a few things to keep in mind though:  - I mostly keep it on the auto setting, which has worked well for me - If you are unfortunate enough to encounter consistently poor air quality for days at a time (for example, from forest fires), this thing will be running on it's HIGHEST setting to provide you with fresh air. This is not surprising to me, when there is literally no clean air anywhere to be found outside, and I feel lucky that I have this unit helping me breathe easily

I also had a close friend tell me she bought one cause she has Asthma like I do and she said she loved it.  I got mine last night. I immediately pulled it out of the box. It was so simple to set up
