This is a big one. Seems like an afterthought in the design. Its one of the narrowest, flimsiest hip belts I've ever seen on a backpack (well, except for the 28L version which is more like a seatbelt). There is one zippered pocket that's so small you might be able to squeeze in a stick of gum (not exaggerating)

Osprey will replace the bag for me for free, but I'm wondering if I'd be better suited with a Farpoint 40 or similar. I've used the Porter 46 quite a bit but only truly onebagged with it once, for a 3 week trip to Japan. It was very spacious (I bought a ton of souvenirs and also I overpacked for the trip since it was my first onebag trip) but I found it too massive, unwieldy, and uncomfortable to carry it full-time.

My criteria: work stuff and packed clothes and such to be separate, so I can walk off my flight, into my client site, and not worry about showing all my clothes to everyone while I take out my laptop, without having to carry to bags. This bag accomplishes this amazingly well with a laptop pocket at the back, and two front pockets that accommodate your 'work bag' stuff

The media could not be loaded. Just got this (opened the Amazon box not even 2 hours ago) and it was a pain in the butt to unzip, packed it up with everything for a trip tomorrow, found another shirt I want to put in it and once again having the hardest time unzipping it. Is it going to be like this every time Cotopaxi? Is opening it going to suck each & every time? I need it for this trip but a little worried based off this first impression. You’d think for $200 I’d be able to easily unzip the thing

Finally, the back panel seems to be regular, nylon fabric, so it provides little airflow, and means that you'll end-up with a sweaty back fairly quickly. If you don't plan to carry this bag for long periods of time, I think it would probably be adequate; the organization options and the foam side "wings" allow for very easy packing and unpacking. But, if you value comfort of carry more, as I do, this probably isn't the bag for you. In that case, you might want to look at the Farpoint 40

I have an ipad and a 13"laptop, but the specialized laptop sleeve is too short to fit them. The rubberized outer material will "stick" to the overhead bin plastic and make it harder to shove in there. I don't like the 50/50 suitcase style packs (didn't know that until I used them awhile). This was a gentle city hop- and I can’t imagine what it will look like when I ask it to work. I am nervous about sending it back to seller- will they take it with those scratches? It certainly looks used, so they won’t be able to resell.

I will be carrying this, now black pack for weeks at a time so I wanted something that didn't revolt me every time I looked or lifted it, yep it is just a color. If you find it at a cheaper price then go for it, but maybe wonder why its at a cheaper price. The photo on here doesn't really show the true color, so just be warned about Castle Gray, whatever kind of color that's supposed to be.
