Coros Pace 2 vs Garmin Forerunner 245

If you're in search of the best software features, look instead to the Garmin Forerunner 55, which comes in at a similar price point. But for those that don't care so much about features and are just interested in an easy-to-use and accurate watch with loads of battery life, we wouldn't recommend any other.

I don't know if this is just my watch issues. If I don't have to deal with this annoying process turn on and off of my watch every day, I will give five stars for this review. By the way, one thing I want to mention, the Garmin Express is not working well. Every time I use it, I have to plug-in and plug-out the connecting USB cable five to six times to make connect work

This watch is light weight, it looks nice to wear. Not some huge clunky or bulky watch. Able to change the face/dial to nice watch with minute-second hands etc so it is not "digital". One thing that is odd and probably designed to keep from accidently opening the training/tracking functions is the button you have to spin to unlock the functions

Or honestly you don't even need a watch if you're comfortable running without technology. There is definitely a freedom to running without anything on you.

- Workouts automatically end after you finish the last lap. If you are executing a structured workout and are still a half mile away from your house when the last interval ends, the workout stops and doesn't include the last half mile. - Unable to use treadmill for structured run workouts? Maybe you can change this, but I wasn't able to find an option for it. When executing a run from your training plan, there seems to be no way to use the indoor run/treadmill option

The 245 and the 745 likely fit the bill best for your needs. I've got a 245 now and it's a great watch.

GPS accuracy was an important feature as well as the price relative to competitors in choosing the Coros pace 2. It would be nice if I could get HR data as well without having to purchase a chest strap monitor. For the added cost of the chest strap, I could have gone with a Garmin forerunner 245. Probable will return and purchase the Garmin

However, now I feel like maybe the Garmin FR 245 Music would be a better choice for me. The most basic functions I need are GPS and the ability to download music from Spotify for phone-free runs.

I currently have a Coros pace 2 and I really like it. The battery life has blown me away. I train probably 6-10 hours a week and I only need to recharge the battery once every 3 weeks or so. I've been impressed with the features as well

I think it may be that some features, like the Pulse Ox (which is fairly inaccurate), cause the battery to drain faster. Garmin's Connect app encourages you to wear this watch all the time, even when sleeping, to get better fitness data. That's another reason the battery drains so fast. Good thing is that it charges quickly

Really this should be the same price as the vivoactive 3, and serious runners who don't want a touch screen, garmin pay, stairs climbed counting, and want extra running metrics would buy it. Most people still wouldn't. After using it I don't see why its 100 dollars more. Runners pay more money for watches?
