Coros Apex vs Fitbit Sense

When setting up the Apex, the app asks you to select your training level (light, moderate, or hard), and set your daily calorie and exercise goals. I’m an average runner at best, so I selected the light training level, and went with the default recommendations of 153 calories and 39 minutes of exercise. If you find your exercise goals too easy, you can change them in the app. When you meet your daily goal, the Apex vibrates and shows a congratulatory message on its screen

Hey everyone! I've had Fitbit Sense since late last year (and previously I was a happy Pebble Time user).

For those thinking that perhaps the Coros has a hardware issue, I should note that I had Bluetooth issues on the Pace 2 in many of the similar ways. And for those thinking it’s my phone, I had the same issue with my iPhone 11 and the Pace 2 as well. This is either the Bluetooth stack on their devices, or a poor handling of the Bluetooth API interactions on iOS. As I finally finished my customization (new watch face, workout screen modifications [data fields]), I was able to finally start putting the Apex Pro through it’s paces

Same thing goes for the blood oxygenation monitor. Or the fitness readiness tool.

Communication between the Sense and the smartphone app is also sometimes rather spotty. For example, when I was browsing my exercise log for the last two weeks, the phone app tells me that I didn't exercise last Tuesday, and has no data for that day

I actually give Fitbit the win on both mobile and website interfaces. I find the dark theme and low contrast text on the mobile app hard to read. I don't like that some screens/views require rotating the phone. And, it's just hard to see some of the data I want to see, like HR during specific parts of a workout

Is it going to be the perfect watch for everyone? No. It's likely too pricey and advanced for most casual users, and it lacks some smart features foun...

I'm in love with my Coros Apex. Got it for $300 on sale. I seriously do not think there is a better deal for a watch. To get a comparable Garmin I'd have to spend $650

It doesn't ever actually tell you what the baseline is- it just tells you each morning if your temp was higher or lower than the average. I don't find the stress score to be accurate at all, and honestly it doesn't serve much of a purpose. I think the price is too high, it seems like the "premium" health metrics should be provided without the premium membership. I got it thru my company's employee discount, if I had paid full price, i I would definitely be sending it back

I almost forgot I had it on at times. The battery life is the selling point of this watch (and frankly, all Coros products). A bit better than what I get on my Fenix 6X. The trade-off in software and lack of data ultimately had me stick with Garmin though

I also found that the SpO2 tracker dramatically reduces the battery life. The battery seems to drain 3x faster overnight with the SpO2 app installed and I only get 3 days of charge out of it as opposed to the 6 as advertised. I would have thought I could manage better by only using the apps that come pre-installed on the device and not using the always on face or the quick look feature.

Beyond that, everything on the device only meets expectation

I have had a 245 for 2 years and it’s pretty dope. I really can’t see myself upgrading to a different running watch (though having Garmin Pay would be nice).

I was able to fix it this time after just 2 tries (I guess practice makes perfect, but I don't want to practice how to restart this thing when it becomes unusable again).

Overall, it works okay for recording my running workouts, but I am cautious about relying on it 100% of the time. The loops started as I was about to start running so those were not recorded (runners understand the pain of this). so even though this is mostly working, the frustrating issues and resolution makes me wish I had splurged for the Apple Watch

I only use the text & call notifications because everything else was just overwhelming/obnoxious. That's also because my Pixel was updated & the "new & improves bubbles" turned my notifications to shit.

returned for refund. other than that it really helped to keep me moving and reminded me to drink water.

And, it's just hard to see some of the data I want to see, like HR during specific parts of a workout. The iPhone app interface is why I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 star and I'd probably only deduct half a start if that were possible.

The battery life is quite good; I do not use “always on” mode and I get 6 days on a charge.

I can still use it as an old-school watch with an analog face – a plus for me.

However, the battery charging system has a serious design flaw. After 4 months I started getting messages that the watch was “slowly charging”, and that I should try a different charger

No complaints. It is comfortable to ware all day and night. It is very light and does not feel thick in the wrist. The Band: The band is also very light and comfortable

It’s not showmanship or fashion, I have a device that does what I need it to keep me going. I wouldn’t bother keeping it charged if not.
