Same here after my Corsair H100i started failing at one year. Got a Noctua NH-D15 and not only is it outperforming the Corsair, it is much quieter.

As soon as this thing was installed and I booted up my PC, the results were IMMEDIATELY noticeable. My idle temps have plummeted from 65-70 down to about 25-28 Celsius. Under load ( I played an early 2019 game on almost max settings for several hours), the temp barely rose, going to about 34-36 Celsius across all my cores. This beast definitely does it's job VERY well and I'm thrilled about it

SO, starting later today I'm going to try out the infamously glitched game Kingdom Come: Deliverfance to feel for the heat difference, and I do believe Fallout 4 and GTA5 are in order as well. If after all that it has becoming apparent that your product is great at it's job I'll consider it $90 well spent, a nice thumbing of the nose to the liquid cooler-obsessed, and I'll also up your score from 4 to 5. Well, look at what I did again.

Powersupply: I usually start by looking at Seasonic and higher end EVGA and Corsair models.

I started this approach with the MSI MPG x570 Gaming Plus Wifi after breaking everything down and removing it from the case. What I discovered when putting it back into the Zalman X3, was it was very difficult to get it back in and then to screw back down the motherboard. That wasn't the worse part as that occurred with reconnecting the power connectors -especially the cpu connectors located at the top of the board. The cpu connectors at the top left of the board on the MSI were located right against the cooler fins and because of the narrow space between the fins and the top of the case, I struggled trying to get the connectors set, cutting my knuckles against the sharp fins while attempting this (there is some blood stains on the fins now

I'm using a Cooler Master Hyper 212 on my i5 9600k overclocked to 4.8GHz and I never go above 75 even in benchmark/stress testing. The other thing I would recommend is using some decent thermal paste, and more importantly: applying it correctly. Basically you want it to cover as much of the CPU as possible, without spilling over the sides

I'm using a 3600 myself and have a very limited budget. I used what Tech YES City (a YouTube channel that focuses on best value for money PC building) recommend which is a Snowman Cooler (Air Cooler) with GD900 (thermal paste). My temps are 36 °C Min and 50 °C Max when idle and 45 °C Min and 66 °C Max when in game. I am not happy about buying an additional fan at $32 before tax and shipping. I think I should get a rebate for the $32 extra.

Make sure you look at its dimensions and know the dimensions of your case to ensure that it will fit in with the panels on. This cooler does come with some thermal paste with which to apply and install the cooler but I had some higher quality stuff laying around from a previous mother board upgrade/replacement so I used it instead. I'm not sure of the quality of the thermal paste that comes with the cooler but I'd probably spend a couple extra bucks and buy you a high quality paste alongside your order of this cooler just to be safe. I should note that previously I only had 2 case fans installed in my case

Noctua NH-D15 works awesome on this CPU. No need for AIO - I had a 8700k - NH-D15, and upgraded to the 12900k - NH-D15.. I probably wont do an AIO again
