I researched a lot, tried out tons of mattresses, and in the end decided to get a [Novaform 14" Comfort Grande Plus Memory Foam Mattress]([URL REMOVED] I was influenced by [this NYT Wirecutter article]([URL REMOVED] as well. The mattress has been great so far. Even though they mention it's on the firm side, the top layer is still plush enough to feel great. For reference I'm a 22 y/o female 130 pounds 5'7 and a side sleeper. My budget is 600 max and I sleep alone. After not properly researching during my first attempt at buying a mattress I'm back to square one. I had the most hellish experience with idle sleep after making an order in November only to never receive it. After months of back and forth to get my refund only after threatening to sue did they refund me this week! Horrible customer service to say the least.  I'll accept my L as I should've just came straight to reddit to read the reviews and I would've seen the onslaught of negative things people had to say about this specific company. However you live and you learn. It seems for the most part side sleepers should have a softer mattress which I don't mind however I'm not quite sure where to begin. I've been looking at Brentwood home but that's really all I've got so far. I have a good amount of back pain and toss and turn a lot I also run hot. So anything cooling and I would guess with pressure relief would be up my alley. At this point anything is better than what I'm sleeping on which is a lumpy 20+ year old Serta. Memory foam/ hybrid I don't mind either. Like I said anything is preferable to my current. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Classic Brands Cool Gel Memory Foam 14-Inch Mattress Review

 I am a side sleeper, average weight. We had a traditional queen sized, pillow top mattress that we purchased just three years ago from a local business that literally fell apart on us. It sunk in so bad in the middle that we woke up with hips and back hurting several times a night. We would be exhausted and our arms and legs would actually be sore from clinging to life on the sides of the thing just to prevent crash-rolling into one another as we slept

 The washable mattress cover is a plus though we have not taken it off so I can't speak to the ease of that, yet. I do notice some depression in the bed now but it's very slight, we're due to rotate at this point. So yes this is medium firm but as a side sleeper I'll say it's about perfect. No pressure points

First foam mattress and I am never going back but not American company.

I love this bed. I have never actually tried a cooling gel bed that worked so I was initially confused as to why I wasn't heating up after my naps, it was the bed! I seriously love it, I am comfortable and best of all, I am not overheating and throwing the covers off every 10 minutes.

 i have two twin XL adjustable bed bases under my mattresses and they've never given me any trouble after sleeping on them for 7 years. Hubs and I are wide bodies weighing more than we should and furniture isn't made for obese people in mind but I have to say Classic Brands products stand up to it. when I needed a new mattress for my side of the bed I looked to see if Classic Brands still made a mattress identical to the one I bought 7 years ago and Hubs is still sleeping on. They do and I ordered it getting it last month

VERY GOOD MATTRESS AND LONGLASTING

 It's not revolutionizing, but it's much more comfortable than my last mattress. The smell is pretty much gone although it did take awhile. The smell was honestly not that bad and the only way you could really smell it was if you stuck your nose in the mattress. I don't wake up in the middle of the night anymore from tossing and turning

 The mattress is a very firm version of memory foam. Right out of the box the mattress doesn't give in as much as you may think. It's perfect for someone like me because, like I've said, I'm 230 lbs and athletic. This thing offers the perfect support for me, giving in to my heavy points and supporting my lighter areas yet I can see somebody who's much lighter having issues

 Heavy = good because it doesn't shift around. Heavy also equals supportive because they didn't use cheap lightweight foam.  THE BAD: Off-gassing. The off-gassing was not the end of the world as some people have complained

 I didn't see ANY of these bozos respond to customer service who were ready and willing to help. They just griped and moaned. Some people just aren't happy unless they're miserable.  WARRANTY: Let's be real

 NOT ENOUGH EDGE SUPPORT. I’ve lost another 15 pounds (I’m 205 now) and my butt still sinks to the bed frame when I sit on the edge of the bed for more than a couple minutes (which I do a LOT). If I reposition myself to a new area I get another few minutes but I’m always moving around searching for a new spot. I like to sit on the end of the bed and play video games with my son but I don’t sit there for long because it becomes uncomfortable

 Some people just aren't happy unless they're miserable.  WARRANTY: Let's be real. Pretty much all mattress warranties are a joke and damn near impossible to make a claim. For the price I paid, if I have to buy a new mattress in a few years, so be it

 So back on track here. I waited 10 hours and I slept on this sucker. Well. I slept like a starfish after 3 years on a couch

I pointed out to you that this came with two pillows and we just took those out and they fluffed up immediately and they're made of the same stuff that the mattress is made out of, so that's kind of cool, but it came with these pillows. I'm looking forward to checking them out and seeing if we enjoy them, but there's the pillows

I visited IKEA today and found the $500 Heston mattress (queen size). Curious if anyone has any experience with it, how it holds up, or any advice whatsoever. Thanks in advance!

<p>Edit: I’m a 5’8” 160 lb male, and I’ll be sleeping in this mattress with my wonderful and tiny 5’0 girlfriend. We tend to sleep on our sides and stomachs.</p>

my mother has severe spinal stenosis (several discs have broken down, she's had rods and screws installed with little benefit, as well as a torn glute repair. take care of your spines, kids.) she's 56, ~155, and sleeps on her back, prefers med-firm or firm. her gentleman companion says he's comfortable on whatever. while they were moving in together I bought them a zinus, warning them that it would break down fairly quickly and need to be replaced, and that it would be a pain when it did. the time has come.

she's up every night in serious pain, and sometimes doesn't bother trying to sleep at all. her job is very difficult and both emotionally and physically demanding, especially during covid. I don't feel like I can waste her time with a bunch of returns or DIYing something, though the zippered mattresses with layers seem doable.

she's willing to spend up to $3500 and is interested in latex or a latex hybrid for its lifespan. I'd like to avoid memory foam and memory foam hybrids because if the next mattress sags within five years I'm going to turn into the Joker.

currently looking at the Alexander nest hybrid or an Ikea hesstun mattress+good latex topper, since we live fairly close to an Ikea and a return would plausibly be easier than dealing with a mattress company.
can anyone point me in the right direction, or confirm my instincts?
